The brilliant American showcased his talent in the best possible way, signaling the conquest of many Majors in the future. In an interview with Sky Sports, he discussed his success and the accolades he received after such a victory.
Some consider him a generational talent, drawing comparisons to Tiger Woods. The 27-year-old golfer seems to not be someone who appreciates such comparisons, as he wants to be a unique golfer and distinctly build his name. Scottie intends to become the best golfer he can be.
“I don’t really think about that kind of stuff, I’m just me, I’m not trying to be anybody else or do anything crazy. I’m just trying to be the best I can be and that’s all I’m focused on.”- Scottie Scheffler said, as quoted by Sky Sports!
He emphasized that after his career ends, he’ll allow others to talk about him and his career, as it’s too early now to draw conclusions. Scheffler doesn’t want to bear the pressure on his shoulders, considering the comparisons being made between him and the big names in the world of golf. This young golfer has always wanted to enter tournaments relaxed and without too many expectations. However, when you do great things in the world of golf, you automatically attract attention, and people have huge expectations of you.
Scheffler expressed that while some days in golf are enjoyable, others can be challenging. He stresses the ups and downs of the sport and aims to appreciate the good times when they come. Additionally, he mentioned his anticipation to return home and celebrate his victory with his wife, friends, and family before resuming his focus on upcoming competitions.

Golf, like any sport, has its good and bad days. Scheffler strives to remain calm even when things don’t go as planned. Looking at the past year, it seems things couldn’t have turned out better for him. Scottie intends to conquer everything in his path this year, with the main focus, of course, being on the Majors.
Being No.1 in the world is certainly a great responsibility, automatically causing expectations from everyone. Scheffler was aware that fans and experts had high expectations of him, which he endeavored to meet. Scheffler admitted that it’s not easy to feel the pressure and answer media questions before tournaments. However, he displayed the right mentality and proved himself to be a golfer capable of handling pressure.
“It definitely brings its own pressure. The questions in the media are a bit different, but when we all step out on the first tee, we all start as even par.
I didn’t get a head start just because I’d been playing good the last few weeks.”- Scheffler said!
He is particularly proud of himself for being able to resist pressure and remain calm when it matters most. This is the hallmark of top golfers. To become a big star, you must be prepared for pressure and reporters’ questions. That’s also one of the reasons why golf, as well as other sports, is as much a mental game as it is physical.
“I think there is an extra bit of satisfaction in being able to come here and perform when the expectations placed on me from outside were so high and I was able to put those to the side and have a nice week.”

He emphasized feeling anxious before the final day, given his strong desire to win. Speaking with friends, he acknowledged his huge desire to win the Masters, expressing that he wished he had less of a hunger for success. However, despite the nerves and everything else, Scheffler managed to remain calm throughout the tournament and showed that he is a golfer worthy of being at the top.
The next few months will determine if he can maintain consistency, but considering his recent dominance, we have no doubt that Scottie can continue to perform exceptionally well. It’s expected that he will be just as impressive in the upcoming Majors as he was at the Masters.
