Day 1: Results

32. Carolina Panthers (via Buffalo Bills): WR Xavier Legette (South Carolina). Two receivers and two potential Patriots targets off the board to conclude round one, as Carolina moves up a spot to secure the big-bodied Legettel

31. San Francisco 49ers: WR Ricky Pearsall (Florida). The 49ers add a versatile and tough receiver in Pearsall, which adds to the intrigue of the future of receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel.

30. Baltimore Ravens: CB Nate Wiggins (Clemson). The third cornerback off the board in the first-round, Wiggins is a top-tier athlete with strong ball skills along the perimeter.

29. Dallas Cowboys: OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma). After a small move down the board, Dallas turns to the offensive line with Guyton, who possesses all the physical traits teams look for at the tackle position.

28. Kansas City Chiefs (via Buffalo Bills): WR Xavier Worthy (Texas). The defending Super Bowl Champions move up to add a receiver in Worthy, who set the NFL Combine record with a 4.21-second 40-yard dash.

27. Arizona Cardinals: Edge Darius Robinson (Missouri). With their second pick in the first-round, Arizona adds to their defense with a physical edge defender in Robinson.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OL Graham Barton (Duke). Tampa Bay adds the top available offensive lineman remaining in Barton, who has the athleticism and versatility to play all five positions up front.

25. Green Bay Packers: OT Jordan Morgan (Arizona). The Packers get their new left tackle with the athletic Morgan — who was a potential option for the Patriots at pick No. 34.

24. Detroit Lions (via Dallas Cowboys): CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama). A second corner off the board within three picks, as the Lions move up to help their secondary with Arnold.

23. Jacksonville Jaguars: WR Brian Thomas Jr. (LSU). The fourth receiver and second from LSU selected as Jacksonville adds Thomas after moving down.

22. Philadelphia Eagles: CB Quinton Mitchell (Toledo). The Eagles fill a need in their secondary by taking one of the top corners available with Mitchell, who is a strong athlete for his size.

21. Miami Dolphins: Edge Chop Robinson (Penn State). Miami adds to their pass rush group with Penn State’s Chop Robinson, who tallied 52 total pressures over the past two seasons.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: OT Troy Fautanu (Washington). The sixth offensive tackle off the board as Pittsburgh takes the position in the first-round for the second straight season — although a move inside to guard could be in Fautanu’s future.

19. Los Angeles Rams: Edge Jared Verse (Florida State). Sean McVay’s first first-round draft pick since 2016 falls on the defensive side of the ball as he adds to his pass rush after the retirement of Aaron Donald.

18. Cincinnati Bengals: OT Amarius Mims. After adding Trent Brown in free agency, Cincinnati adds another tackle in Mims, who has all the physical traits at the position but is extremely inexperienced.

17. Minnesota Vikings (via Jacksonville Jaguars): Edge Dallas Turner. Many believed Turner was set to be the top pass rusher off the board, but Minnesota moves up to No. 17 to secure the Bama product.

16. Seattle Seahawks: DL Byron Murphy (Texas). A second-straight defensive player off the board, as Seattle bolsters their interior defensive line with Murphy.

15. Indianapolis Colts: Edge Laiatu Latu (UCLA). After 14 straight offensive picks, the Colts take the first defensive player of the draft with the Bruins’ edge rusher.

14. New Orleans Saints: OT Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State). New Orleans addresses the top need on their roster with Fuaga, a right tackle who did not allow a sack throughout his collegiate career.

13. Las Vegas Raiders: TE Brock Bowers (Georgia): After missing out on the quarterback run, Vegas bolsters their offense by adding the top tight end in this year’s class in Brock Bowers.

12. Denver Broncos: QB Bo Nix (Oregon). One of the most prolific quarterbacks in college football history finds his way to Denver. Nix is the sixth QB taken within the first 12 selections.

11. New York Jets (via Minnesota Vikings): OT Olu Fashanu (Penn State). With Aaron Rodgers coming back from injury, the Jets decide to shore up the protection in front of him.

10. Minnesota Vikings (via New York Jets): J.J: McCarthy (Michigan). The Vikings did make a trade up after all, but only one spot. Why? To make sure they would get their quarterback of the future.

9. Chicago Bears: WR Rome Odunze (Washington). Eight picks after picking their quarterback of the future, the Bears add a potential No. 1 wide receiver.

8. Atlanta Falcons: QB Michael Penix Jr. (Washington). The first shocker of the night. Penix Jr. saw his stock rise considerably the last few weeks, and now ends up in Atlanta as the fourth quarterback off the board.

7. Tennessee Titans: OT J.C. Latham (Alabama). The second offensive lineman to come off the board, Latham will help the Titans improve protection around quarterback Will Levis.

6. New York Giants: WR Malik Nabers (LSU). An all-around wide receiver, Nabers will give the Giants a serious No. 1 wide receiver — despite prior speculation the Giants would go after a quarterback.

5. Los Angeles Chargers: OT Joe Alt (Notre Dame). The consensus best tackle on the board ends up in Los Angeles to protect Justin Herbert. Together with Rashawn Slater he will form one of the best tackle duos in football right away.

4. Arizona Cardinals: WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State). A popular potential trade-out candidate, Arizona stays put to land the top wide receiver in this year’s class.

3. New England Patriots: QB Drake Maye (North Carolina). Despite quarterbacks going first and second, New England stays at No. 3 and picks UNC’s Drake Maye.

2. Washington Commanders: QB Jayden Daniels (LSU). The Commanders land the reigning Heisman Trophy winner with the second overall pick. A true dual-threat at the position as Daniels compiled nearly 5,000 all-purpose yards and 50 touchdowns last season.

1. Chicago Bears: QB Caleb Williams (USC). No surprise here, as the Bears land the consensus top available quarterback in Caleb Williams.

7:07 p.m. ET: Head coach Jerod Mayo teases a first-round trade: from the second round up.

6:50 p.m. ET: All signs point toward the Patriots staying at No. 3, with quarterback Drake Maye the most likely target.

6:26 p.m. ET: The Patriots appear to have an eye on San Francisco wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. According to Tom E. Curran (via Nick Cattles), the team has been working on a trade even though nothing is solid as of today. New England does appear motivated to add veteran wide receiver help.

6:03 p.m. ET: According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, who spoke with head coach Jerod Mayo, the Patriots will not trade back just for the sake of acquiring more draft capital.

“I don’t want to get into a situation where we’re trading back three picks, just to get more picks, just because,” Mayo said, per Wolf. “If we love a guy, we’re going to sit there and take them.”

4:21 p.m. ET: The Patriots staying put is considered “highly likely,” according to draft expert Todd McShay.

3:27 p.m. ET: ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. is not expecting “any surprises” at picks 1 through 3.

The first three picks will be chalk: I know this might be a little boring at this point, but I’m hearing there won’t be any surprises at the top of the board. I expect Caleb Williams (USC) to go the Bears, followed by Jayden Daniels (LSU) to the Commanders and Drake Maye (North Carolina) to the Patriots, making it quarterbacks at Nos. 1, 2 and 3.

12:00 p.m. ET: As far as anonymous accounts with dog avatars go, this one has been quite accurate when it comes to revealing NFL news ahead of time. If anything, it is something to keep an eye on.

12:00 p.m. ET: It might be Drake Maye or the bag for the Patriots in Round 1.
