Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Tiger Woods stated, “I am honored to receive the Bob Jones Award. Thank you to the USGA for this significant acknowledgment.” Established in 1955 in honor of Bobby Jones, a golf and sportsmanship icon, over the years, the award has been received by other golf legends such as Gary Player (1966), Arnold Palmer (1971), Jack Nicklaus (1975), and Ben Hogan (1976).
