WWE Extreme Rules Results 10/8/2022


– Tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules Kickoff pre-show opens live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as Kevin Patrick welcomes us. We see fans finding their seats in the background. Patrick is joined by Sam Roberts and WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and Jerry Lawler. They congratulate each other on the recent commentary team changes, and then Patrick goes over tonight’s card. We go to a video package for tonight’s Ladder Match. The panel discusses Bayley vs. RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair now. Rosenberg predicts Bayley to win, and the Legends agree with him.

We take a break and get a video package for tonight’s “I Quit” match. Lawler predicts WWE Hall of Famer Edge to get the win, while Booker believes this will be Edge’s final match ever. Rosenberg picks Finn Balor to get the win. Patrick sends us to a break and a video package for tonight’s SmackDown Women’s Title match. Booker goes with SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan to retain, while Lawler and Rosenberg predict Ronda Rousey to win. We see what happened with The Bloodline and Logan Paul on SmackDown as the panel hypes the big WWE Crown Jewel main event for next month. We get a video package on tonight’s Strap Match now. We take another break and see the controversy surrounding Sheamus vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER from last night’s SmackDown season premiere. The panel discusses tonight’s Donnybrook opener. Lawler has stepped away, but Rosenberg predicts Imperium to win and Booker goes with The Brawling Brutes. Back from the break and fans are riled up in the background as the panel goes over tonight’s card again. The panel goes on before Patrick signs off by sending us to a video package for tonight’s Fight Pit main event.

– The 2022 WWE Extreme Rules Premium Live Event opens up with a video package, narrated by Paul Heyman. The video features tonight’s theme song – “Villain” by Bella Poarch. We’re now live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the pyro goes off and Michael Cole welcomes us to a sold out show. He’s joined at ringside by Corey Graves. They talk about being the new Premium Live Event commentary team. We see various bar-related props around the ring as Cole send us to the opener.

Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match: Imperium vs. The Brawling Brutes

We go right to the ring for the Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match as out first comes The Brawling Brutes – Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch. Samantha Irvin does the introductions. The Brutes hit the ring but the White Rabbit teaser interrupts and we see the rabbit jump down into the X, the same scene we saw in the video that first aired during the SmackDown season premiere. Only a few seconds of the video plays before we cut back to Sheamus, Holland and Butch wrapping their entrance. Out next comes Imperium – WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. There are oak barrels, a mini-bar and more props set up around the ring.

The bell rings and the two teams have words. They start brawling and Butch takes Vinci to the top of the announce table. Sheamus an GUNTHER brawl to ringside. Kaiser and Holland go at it. The Shillelagh comes into play. GUNTHER with a big chop to Butch and a boot to send Holland out.

Vinci sends Holland into the ring post. Vinci with a Spinebuster to Holland, them Kaiser follows up with a kick. Imperium poses to some boos and GUNTHER directs traffic. Kaiser breaks the photo of Sheamus’ grandparents at ringside. Sheamus is triple teamed next to the ringside bar. They send Sheamus into the steel ring steps now as fans boo. Butch leaps off the steps but Vinci sends him into the barrier. GUNTHER chops Butch through the barrier and it breaks. Sheamus continues to take the triple team at ringside.

Holland and Butch come back into play but Imperium dominates in the ring now. Sheamus is down at ringside while Imperium triple teams Holland and Butch. They pose to more boos. Butch with an enziguri to Butch but Butch is immediately beat down by Vinci and Kaiser. Holland catches a Kaiser kick but Vinci makes the save. Holland scoops them both onto his shoulders, then slams them for a big pop. Holland turns around to a big boot from GUNTHER.

Kaiser and Vinci with an Imperium Bomb to Holland on the floor, from the apron. Holland is out now. Butch is all alone in the ring. He fights but they triple team him. Sheamus is still down at ringside. GUNTHER turns Butch upside down in the corner and holds him there with a boot to the throat. Kaiser and Vinci attack Butch from both sides while GUNTHER is holding him upside down with his boot. Butch hits the floor and Imperium poses in the middle of the ring.

Kaiser and Vinci hold Butch up in the ring now while GUNTHER chops him. Sheamus powers up at ringside, tipping the bar over, and fans are cheering him on. He drops Vinci and Kaiser as they attack at ringside, then sends them into the barrier. Fans pop as Sheamus stares GUNTHER down now. GUNTHER is ready to fight. Sheamus enters the ring as the crowd goes wild. They start brawling in the middle of the ring now. GUNTHER with a big German suplex. Sheamus with a clothesline, and a corner clothesline. Sheamus runs into a big boot. Sheamus with a powerslam for a big pop.

Sheamus goes for10 Beats of the Bodhrán but GUNTHER resists. Sheamus delivers more than 10 anyway. Holland and Butch attack GUNTHER while Sheamus is still delivering more than 10 Beats. Sheamus with White Noise. Sheamus nails the Brogue Kick but Kaiser flies off the top rope with a splash to break the pin up. Vinci unloads on Holland now. The Imperium Bomb is blocked and Butch knocks Kaiser out of mid-air. GUNTHER dropkicks Butch but Sheamus catches him with the Irish Curse backbreaker.

Sheamus with the Cloverleaf submission on GUNTHER in the middle of the ring now as fans cheer. Kaiser decks Sheamus with a Shillelagh to breaks the hold. GUNTHER covers but Holland and Butch break the pin up. We see how the Shillelagh broke on Sheamus’ body. Fans chant “this is awesome!” now. Butch and Holland brawl with Vinci and Kaiser while their two leaders are down. All six are down on the mat now. Sheamus and GUNTHER come to their feet, nose-to-nose. They trade big strikes in the middle of the ring now as fans go along with each blow.

The two teams regroup and get back to their feet. They face off as fans cheer them on. They go at it and Kaiser takes out Butch with a big slam. Vinci takes out Holland. Sheamus drops GUNTHER with the big knee but Vinci makes the save on the pin. Sheamus is double teamed at ringside by Vinci and Kaiser now. They clear the announce table off as fans chant “we want tables!” now. They look to put Sheamus through the table but Butch and Holland make the save. Holland fights with Kaiser and Vinci, allowing Butch to hit a moonsault from the top of the oak barrel.

GUNTHER levels Sheamus with the Shillelagh but he still can’t get the pin and now he’s frustrated. They go for GUNTHER’s fingers now. More chaos breaks out. Sheamus launches GUNTHER through the announce table with a Celtic Cross and the crowd explodes. Sheamus returns to the ring and hypes the crowd up. He nails a Brogue to Vinci while Holland and Butch are holding him up. Sheamus then covers Vinci for the pin to win.

Winners: The Brawling Brutes

– After the match, The Brutes stand tall and celebrate as the music hits. We go to replays. GUNTHER is still laid out at the announce table. We see Kaiser and Vinci also struggling to recover while The Brutes hit the corners to pose. They hug and then leave the ring together, yelling out about “Bangers!” on the way up the ramp.

– Back from a break and The Miz is walking backstage. Megan Morant stops him and brings up what happened with Dexter Lumis last week. Miz doesn’t want to hear his name. Miz says he’s here because of last Monday, and Lumis made it clear he’s going to try and ruin his birthday celebration that Maryse is hosting on RAW. Miz came to speak with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H about… Miz stops in his tracks when he sees Gritty, the mascot for the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers. Miz asks Gritty why he’s here when there’s no hockey game tonight. Gritty shows off his exclusive WWE t-shirt and Miz says there’s no way he’s putting that shirt over his expensive suit. Miz stomps on the shirt and insults Gritty, and the people of Philadelphia. He walks off.

– We get a video package for tonight’s match for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Extreme Rules Match for the SmackDown Women’s Title: Ronda Rousey vs. Liv Morgan

We go back to the ring for tonight’s Extreme Rules match as Irvin goes over the rules. Out first comes Ronda Rousey. She’s wearing a pink gi to honor the late “Judo” Gene LeBell, her trainer who recently passed away. Cole says Bell’s memorial service is tomorrow. Out next comes SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan. We get formal ring introductions from Irvin.

The bell rings and Liv rolls for her baseball bat leaning in the corner but Rousey slams her to the mat. Rousey decks Liv and rolls her into a submission. Liv breaks free off a kick out and then grabs the bat.

Rousey stands back up and isn’t afraid of the bat. Rousey catches a bat swing and slams Morgan. Rousey has the bat now. She stalks Morgan with it for a second, but then throws the bat to the floor. Liv tries for a move but Rousey meets her in the air with a knee. Rousey looks for an ankle lock but Liv sends her to the apron. Liv with a knee to the face to send Rousey to the floor.

Liv runs and goes for a baseball slide but Rousey traps her in the apron cover. Rousey unloads and Liv screams for more. Liv decks her. Liv is down under the apron cover now. Rousey goes over to grab the baseball bat. She walks over to Liv but Liv sprays her in the face with a fire extinguisher. Liv goes for Rousey but Rousey slams her on the floor with a Piper’s Pit. Liv runs and leaps off the steel steps but Rousey smacks her in mid-air with the bat. Liv lands hard and Rousey looks out to center field.

Rousey with a few light baseball bat shots to the back as Liv rolls back in. Rousey seems to comment on how the bat is light. Liv drops Rousey with an enziguri after Rousey swings and misses. Fans chant for tables now. Liv gets up and knocks Rousey out of the ring with bat shots. Liv with more bat shots at ringside. Rousey blinds Liv with her gear, then goes to whipping her with her black belt.

Rousey ties Liv to the ring post with the belt. She holds Liv there and unloads on her leg with bat shots. Liv drives Rousey into the edge of the apron and they both go down at ringside. Liv pulls a table from under the ring now, and she slides it in. Liv stomps away on Rousey to keep her down in the corner. Liv leans the table up in the corner now. Rousey charges and slams Liv’s face into the table over and over. Rousey drops Liv with a step-up knee to the face. Rousey chokes Liv with the middle rope now, taunting her to tap out. They tumble to the floor.

Rousey approaches but Liv jabs her with a steel chair. They bring it back into the ring and Liv wedges the chair in the turnbuckles. Rousey fights Liv off but Liv slides off her shoulders. They tangle and Liv kicks Rousey shoulder-first into the ring post. The chair fell out of the corner and was not there for Rousey to hit. Liv covers for 2. Liv beats Rousey down with a chair now. Liv continues the chair shots, then drops Rousey into the chair with a Code Red. Rousey still kicks out.

Liv pulls the table out of the corner and goes to stand it up, stopping to kick Rousey. The table is standing in front of the corner now. Liv places Rousey on the corner and strikes her. Liv goes to the top as fans cheer her on. Liv leaps and puts Rousey through the table with a big senton. Rousey kicks out at 2. Rousey immediately pulls Liv into an armbar but Liv resists.

Liv powers up and powerbombs Rousey onto half of the table. Rousey kicks out at 2. Rousey tries to re-position the armbar again but Liv resists some more. Rousey transitions into a Biceps Crusher and sits back on Liv’s head. Liv looks to be smiling as she fades in the submission. Rousey gets the win via referee stoppage.

Winner and New SmackDown Women’s Champion: Ronda Rousey

– After the match, Rousey stands tall as the music hits. She raises the title in the air and talks some trash to Liv. We go to replays. Rousey talks some more trash on the way to the back while Liv is seen smiling.

– Back from a break and we get a video package for the next match.

Strap Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross

We go back to the ring as Samantha Irvin goes over the Strap Match, noting that the 13-foot leather strap will connect the two Superstars. Out first comes Drew McIntyre to a big pop. He’s carrying his sword, Angela, and stops to pose as the pyro goes off. Drew hits the ring and yells out in the corner to more pyro. Out next comes Karrion Kross with Scarlett as the screen goes black & white. Scarlett enters the ring and hypes her man up. The screen turns red as Kross explodes into the ring and yells out. Drew looks on as Kross and Scarlett pose. Kross looks over at Drew and smirks.

Referee Jessica Karr hooks the strap up but Kross is not interested in tying himself to it. Fans boo as Kross plays mind games with McIntyre. The referee hands Kross his end of the strap and he slowly puts it on but throws it away instead. Scarlett pulls the strap from the floor now, which pulls Drew towards the ropes. Kross takes advantage of the distraction and attacks Drew, beating him down in the corner.

Drew and Kross brawl at ringside now. Kross counters and sends Drew into the ring post, then over the barrier into the crowd. Kross with big strikes but Drew fights back and beats him through the crowd. They brawl back to the barrier and Kross tosses Drew over it to ringside. Kross still has not tied himself to the leather strap. Kross goes for a suplex onto the steel ring steps but Drew counters with a suplex on the floor of his own. Drew slams Kross’ face into the announce table, then the apron. Drew sends Kross up the steps and face-first into the ring post. Drew lifts Kross on the steps and nails a huge backbreaker onto the edge of the apron. Fans pop and Drew yells out. Drew brings Kross back into the ring and puts the strap around Kross’ arm.

The bell finally rings and Drew starts pounding on Kross with fists. Drew whips Kross with the strap now as Scarlett winces from ringside. Kross rolls out but Drew follows him with strap shots over the back. Drew taunts Kross, telling him to fall and pray.

Kross takes advantage of another distraction by Scarlett, and sends Drew into the post. The referee asks Drew if he needs a medic for his shoulder but he yells no. Kross focuses on Drew’s hurt shoulder now, beating him around ringside as Scarlett barks at him. Kross brings it back in and drops Drew with a shoulder-breaker. Kross chokes Drew with the middle rope now, taunting him.

Kross fights back from the mat with chops. Kross ducks a swing and goes for the Kross Jacket submission. Kross drops Drew with a big strap shot across the chest as Scarlett smiles. Kross drags Drew out of the ring with the strap, and rocks him in the forehead. Kross drops Drew face-first into the top of the announce table, telling him this is about the future. Kross whips Drew against the ring post now. Scarlett screams out as Kross unloads on Drew with tons of strap shots. Scarlett yells for more and fans boo.

Kross brings Drew back into the ring for a Doomsday Saito suplex but he’s in no hurry to end the match. Kross with more strap shots across the arms and back. Drew takes a few shots now and stares Kross down. Drew is pissed. He drops Kross once, then again with a clothesline as fans rally. Drew with a big belly-to-belly throw across the ring, then a neckbreaker in the middle of the ring. Drew kips-up for a big pop. Drew smiles now. Kross blocks the Future Shock DDT. Drew comes back with a big Spinebuster for a 2 count.

They get up and trade big strikes in the middle of the ring now. Scarlett cheers her man on as they trade punches and forearms. They start whipping each other with leather now in the middle of the ring. Drew with a big strap shot to Kross’ neck. Kross keeps whipping Drew back. The leather strap shots continue until Kross goes down to his knees. Drew keeps whipping him. Drew with a Future Shock DDT in the middle of the ring.

Drew calls for the Claymore Kick but Scarlett gets in the way. Drew goes around her but she sprays pepper spray in his face. Drew is blinded a she goes down. Kross readies in the corner now. He decks Drew with the Kross Hammer forearm for the pin to win.

Winner: Karrion Kross

– After the match, Kross and Scarlett begin to celebrate as the music hits. We go to replays. The referee immediately tends to Drew’s face to try and clean the pepper spray away. Kross carries Scarlett away up the ramp as they continue their celebration, staring back at the ring.

– Back from the break and The Miz is on the phone backstage. He’s talking to Maryse, saying he will do whatever it takes to make sure nothing goes wrong during the birthday celebration on RAW. He mentions how he hasn’t even talked to Triple H yet because he’s busy. Gritty appears again and waves at Miz. Miz yells at him and Gritty pokes fun at Miz for being on his phone. Miz storms off.

Ladder Match for the RAW Women’s Title: Bayley vs. Bianca Belair

We go back to the ring for the Ladder Match as Bayley makes her way to the ring. WWE NXT Superstar Nikkita Lyons is shown in the crowd. She stands and waves. Bayley looks up at the RAW Women’s Title belt hanging above the ring. Out next comes champion Bianca Belair as fans cheer her on. We see many ladders placed around the ring area. Mike Rome does formal ring introductions.

The bell rings and they start brawling in the middle. They collide and both go down. Bayley rolls to the floor to get a ladder. She brings it back in but Belair is doing the same thing on the other side of the ring. Bayley stands her ladder up first but here comes Belair with her own ladder. Belair’s ladder is taller. Bayley beats on Belair instead of climbing, pulling her off the ladder.

Bayley goes to use the ladder but we have a tug-of-war for it. Belair shoves Bayley to the floor. Belair climbs for the title but Bayley pulls her off and tosses her to the floor. Belair pulls Bayley out by her leg but Bayley nails a knee, then sends Belair face-first into the ladder leaning against the ring. Bayley talks some trash to the fans at ringside, asking who really sucks. Belair lands on a leaning ladder but she catches herself and climbs into the ring, then up a ladder for the title. Bayley rushes in to stop her.

Fans chant “EST!” now. She counters Bayley off the top and climbs for the title but Bayley stops her again. Belair shoves Bayley face-first into the ladder and she goes own. Belair puts a ladder flat on the mat and slams Bayley on top of it. Belair with the cartwheel into a moonsault, nailing Bayley on top of the ladder. Belair brings another ladder into the ring as the “EST!” chant starts back up. Bayley tries to take the ladder from Belair, but shoves it into her in the corner. Bayley beats Belair down in the corner now, trapping her behind a ladder.

The hot crowd does dueling chants now. Bayley stuns Belair with an elbow. Bayley with a big sunset flip to slam Belair onto a leaning ladder in the corner. Bayley stands a ladder up so she can climb. Belair jumps up and pulls her off, beating her to the mat. Bayley jabs a ladder at Belair a few times to keep her down. Bayley sends Belair out and she follows to the floor. Bayley bridges a ladder from the top of the barrier to the steel ring steps. Bayley slams Belair’s face into the ladder bridge, then lays her on top of it. Bayley goes to the apron and runs it, leaping off to elbow Belair on top of the ladder bridge. They both hit hard, falling to the floor.

Bayley pulls another ladder from under the ring but she kicks the stabilizer arm and breaks it off. Belair attacks Bayley from the side but Bayley drops her. Bayley sandwiches Belair between the two ladder legs but Belair moves. Belair picks up one half of the broken ladder and drops Bayley with it. Belair is confused about which ladder to bring in but the referee appears to point to the taller one. Belair brings the ladder back in and stands it up under the title as fans rally for her. Belair climbs but Bayley rushes in and knocks her off. Bayley climbs now but Belair pulls her down. Belair pulls Bayley off the leg and into a big Spinebuster.

Belair climbs for the title while Bayley is down. Bayley tips the ladder over and Belair lands out on the floor after avoiding a collision with another downed ladder in the ring. Bayley was clutching her knee but now she pulls out the thick hinge from her knee brace. She smiles but can’t use it again as Belair decks her. Belair with the KOD in the middle of the ring.

Belair stands the ladder up and climbs for the title but here comes WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. They pull Belair down to the mat and begin double teaming her. SKY goes to the top for the moonsault but Belair attacks her and dazes her up top. Belair ends up putting SKY and Kai on her shoulders at once for a big double KOD. Fans pop and Michael Cole can’t believe it, neither can Corey Graves.

Bayley rushes back in and cuts Belair off with a ladder shot. Bayley wedges a ladder into the turnbuckles in the corner now. She ends up dropping Belair and trapping her under one ladder leg. Bayley climbs the other side of that ladder but Belair pushes up the ladder leg she’s trapped under, tipping it over and sending Bayley to the mat. The ladder is left leaning on the ropes now. They both get up and battle for control of the ladder. They race to the top now as fans cheer them on. They meet at the top of the ladder with punches, both trying to grab the strap. Bayley pulls Belair’s braid, sending her into the ladder, and knocking her to the mat.

Bayley reaches for the title but Belair comes back over and whips her with her braid from the mat. Bayley is sent back to the mat. They tangle some more now. Belair picks up Bayley for a KOD, while also carrying a ladder on her shoulder. Belair nails the KOD, slamming Bayley on top of the steel. It looks as if Bayley smacked her mouth on the ladder on the way down. Belair climbs right up the ladder and retrieves the RAW Women’s Title to win.

Winner: Bianca Belair

– After the match, the music hits as Belair stands tall with the title. We go to replays. Bayley is down at ringside now as officials check on her bloody mouth from the KOD onto the ladder at the end of the match. Damage CTRL gathers at ringside now, tending to Bayley while Belair continues her celebration in the ring, posing for the crowd in the corner. Damage CTRL stares her down.

– Back from the break and the announcers hype Monday’s DX 25th Anniversary Celebration edition of the RAW season premiere, also featuring Austin Theory vs. Johnny Gargano, Seth Rollins vs. WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, and Maryse hosting The Miz’s birthday celebration.

– We get a video package for the next match.

I Quit Match: Edge vs. Finn Balor

We go back to the ring for tonight’s I Quit Match as WWE Hall of Famer Edge makes his way out. Edge plays to the crowd and then poses to the pyro going off. The Rated R Superstar then rushes the ring and hits the corners to pose for a big pop. Out next comes Finn Balor with a black mask on, and a new theme song playing. The mask is covered in spikes. There is no sign of other members of The Judgment Day – Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley or Dominik Mysterio. Balor hits the ring and poses in the corner, then removes his mask and stares out at the crowd. Edge stares Balor down from his own corner. They meet in the middle of the ring, smiling and laughing at each other.

The bell rings and Edge rams Balor back into the corner, unloading with strikes. Balor fights back but Edge keeps swinging. Balor comes out of the corner but Edge drops him with a shoulder. Edge with a swinging neckbreaker.

Edge unloads on Balor while he’s down on the mat. Balor goes to the corner but Edge stays on him. The referee gets closer with his microphone but the brawl continues. Edge whips Balor hard into the turnbuckles and he goes down. Edge chokes Balor from behind in the corner and the referee holds the mic up but Balor will not quit. Edge whips Balor hard into the corner again and he goes back down. Edge beats Balor around the ring while taunting him.

Balor comes out of the corner with a dropkick to the knees, sending Edge down. Balor stomps away on Edge’s hurt knee in the corner to keep him down while fans boo. Balor drops down on the hurt knee and then rocks Edge back into the corner. Balor wraps Edge’s knee around the middle rope but he won’t quit. Edge knocks Balor away with headbutts. Edge charges but Balor takes him back down with the leg lock. Edge won’t quit. Balor tackles Edge again and applies the Figure Four. Edge screams into the mic but he won’t quit. He tells the referee to get the mic out of his face, and fans pop. Balor still has the Figure Four applied in the middle of the ring. Edge finally manages to roll over, turning the submission around on Balor.

Balor tries to break free and he also won’t quit. Balor turns the Figure Four back over and they’re still in the middle of the ring. Edge screams out and won’t quit. Edge with punches to break free from the hold. Edge knocks Balor to the floor and slowly follows. Balor traps Edge in the apron cover, then unloads on him with strikes. Edge with big stomps from the apron while Edge is trapped in the cover. The referee puts the mic in Edge’s face but he’s too dazed to see what is going on as he tries to turn it back around.

Balor slams Edge’s face into the announce table over and over, but he won’t quit. Balor keeps this going and tells the referee to ask Edge again but the answer is the same. Fans boo as Edge falls back down due to more announce table shots by Balor. Balor with punches while a headlock is applied on Edge. Edge gets free and shoves Balor into the barrier. Edge attacks but Balor counters with a Slingblade at ringside. The referee checks again and Edge won’t quit. Edge manages to lift Balor up and carry him, tackling him through the barrier into the timekeeper’s area. Balor tells the referee no as a “holy shit!” chant breaks out.

Edge knocks Balor over the barrier into the crowd now, then beats him through the fans. Balor pleads with Edge but Edge keeps the assault going. Balor will not quit. Edge with a suplex on the bare floor in the crowd. The referee checks again and Balor says, “Never!” Balor slowly recovers as Edge walks away to get something. Edge comes back from behind the seats and he has a hockey stick. Edge decks Balor with the hockey stick as fans pop.

Edge beats Balor over to the Kickoff pre-show set. He pulls back on a Crossface submission using the hockey stick, while they’re on top of the table. Balor screams out but won’t quit. Balor retreats but Edge follows and stays on him. Edge drops Balor on the stairs in the crowd but Balor keeps saying no. The brawl continues up the stairs through the crowd. Balor fights back near the entrance to the concourse, sending Edge face-first into a concrete wall. Balor charges but Edge lifts him into the overhang of the concourse entrance, sending him face-first into the concrete while a group of fans are watching from the concourse area.

Fans pop for Edge as he looks to put Balor away. Balor ends up countering and crotching Edge on the railing of the crowd stairs. Edge drags himself down the stairs but Balor comes from behind and stays on him. Balor keeps the punishment going but Edge will not say he gives up. They fight back through the crowd now. We see what appears to be a beer flying after it comes into play in the brawl. Balor works Edge to the ringside area. Balor knocks Edge back over the barrier and now they’ve returned to the ringside area.

Balor goes under the ring and brings a steel chair out. Edge comes over but Balor drives the chair into his ribs. Balor brings it into the ring and keeps Edge down with the chair. The referee puts the mic in Edge’s face but he says screw you Finn. Balor with more chair shots to keep Edge down. Edge says, “I… I… don’t, quit.” Fans cheer for Edge but he’s suffering now. Balor waits for Edge to get back up, and he keeps control. Edge tries to fight back but Balor drops him with a side-Russian leg sweep. Balor with a Crossface but Edge hangs on. Edge motions for the referee to get out of his face. Balor keeps Edge down and drives knees into his ribs. Balor tells the referee to ask Edge again.

Edge won’t quit. Balor goes to send Edge into a wedged chair in the corner but Edge counters and sends Balor into the wedged chair. Balor goes down. Edge with chair shots now to keep knocking Balor down. Edge drives the edge of the chair into Balor’s leg to keep him down. The referee checks but he won’t quit. Edge with The Edgecator submission. Balor acts like he might quit but he hesitates. priest rushes the ring but Edge sends him out. Edge dumps Balor over the top rope to the apron but Dominik is there. Edge charges with a big Spear to knock Priest, Balor and Dominik to the floor. All four Superstars land hard at ringside and the crowd can’t believe it.

Fans rally for Edge now as he waits in the corner for the Spear. Ripley appears on the apron, and she’s trying to handcuff Edge to the top rope. Edge is now cuffed to the top rope and Ripley taunts him with the key. Edge is on his feet but he turns around to see Priest, Balor and Dominik staring him down from behind. Edge starts fighting with one arm cuffed to the top rope. He connects but they beat him down. Balor looks on smiling while Priest and Dominik double team Edge, keeping him down.

Balor with big kendo stick shots to Edge while he’s dazed against the rope and cuffed. The referee goes to check on Edge but Balor tells him to back off. More kendo stick shots. The referee checks on Edge but he won’t quit. The music interrupts and out comes Rey Mysterio with a steel chair. Fans pop.

Rey meets Priest at ringside and drops him with a chair. Rey hits the ring and flies at Balor with a crossbody. Rey with 619 to Priest. Dominik comes from out of nowhere and drops Rey off the apron with a big right hand to the side of the head. Fans boo. Dominik follows and sends Rey into the barrier. Dominik holds Rey by his arms and stomps away on the floor. Balor goes back to Edge, who is still cuffed to the rope. Balor with kendo stick shots to the back of the knee.

WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix rushes the ring from out of nowhere. She unloads on Balor with kendo stick shots. Priest comes in but Beth also takes him out with kendo stick shots. Dominik comes in but Beth scares him and he quickly retreats in fear. Ripley comes in now and she faces off with Beth. They meet in the middle of the ring with no weapons. Beth tells Ripley to bring it. Ripley smiles in her face. The crowd gets riled up for Beth and now they start brawling in the middle of the ring. Beth levels Ripley with a Spear. Ripley is pulled to safety by Dominik. Beth gets the handcuff key and frees her her husband.

Edge is now free as the crow pops. He immediately drops Priest with a Spear. Dominik pleads with Edge now. Edge backs him to the ropes as the crowd goes wild, telling Edge to do it. Dominik wants to shake hands as a “who’s your daddy?” chant breaks out. Edge shakes but then kicks Dominik below the belt, and kicks him out of the ring. Edge turns around to Balor nailing a Slingblade.

Balor is fired up as he waits in the corner now. Edge still nails a Spear out of nowhere. Edge delivers another Spear as soon as Balor gets up as Beth looks on from ringside. Edge with a third Spear now. Edge motions for Beth to bring him a steel chair, and she does. Edge uses the bar from the chair to pull back on a Crossface to Balor. Ripley drops Beth from behind with brass knuckles. Priest with a South of Heaven chokeslam to Edge. Ripley smiles and shows off her brass knuckles now. Balor goes to the top for Coup de Grace to Edge, and again. Balor goes back to the top for a third Coup de Grace while Priest and Dominik hold him down.

Fans boo The Judgment Day. Beth is laid out in the ring. Balor grabs the mic and tells Edge this is his last chance to say it. Edge tells him to go to hell and the crowd explodes. The three men keep Edge held down while Balor taunts him. Ripley brings a chair in the ring and threatens Beth with it while Balor tells him this is his final chance to say it. Ripley is preparing to finish Beth with a Con-Chair-To as Edge looks on. Edge quickly says he quits multiple times and the bell is rang.

Winner: Finn Balor

– After the bell, Edge is still being held by Balor, Priest and Dominik. Ripley says something to him and smiles, then smacks Beth with the chair to deliver the Con-Chair-To. Edge is shocked. The Judgment Day exits the ring and stands tall on the ramp, smiling back at the ring. Edge can’t believe it as he quickly tends to his wife. Rey and referees rush into the ring to check on Beth as well. Cole calls for a doctor. Edge and the referees are also calling for help.

– Back from a break and The Miz is backstage with Gritty again. Gritty hands him the t-shirt from earlier but Miz isn’t having it. Miz snaps and attacks Gritty with body shots, knocking him into the next room and beating him down. Miz stomps away now and tells Gritty to stay out of his business, because this is not a game, not a joke. Dexter Lumis suddenly appears behind Miz and fans in the arena cheer. Miz turns around to see Lumis staring at him. Miz tries to run away but Lumis stops him. Lumis applies The Silence and puts Miz to sleep, bringing him down right next to Gritty. Lumis then helps Gritty up as fans pop in the arena. Gritty kicks Miz in the stomach and then walks off with Lumis.

Fight Pit: Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins

We go back to the ring for tonight’s main event as UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier makes his way out to be the special guest referee. Matt Riddle is out first. He enters the ring as fans cheer him on. We see WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker sitting at ringside in a suit. He shows off the title belt as fans cheer him on. Out next comes Seth Rollins. The Fight Pit structure is hanging high above the ring. The familiar music begins playing in the arena as the Fight Pit structure lowers around the ring now. The 20-feet high structure weighs over 6.5 tons, according to Cole. The only way to win is by submission or TKO.

They have words in the middle of the Fight Pit now. The bell rings and they get a feel for each other as Cormier looks closely. Riddle with strikes. Riddle kicks Rollins into the cage wall. Riddle blocks a takedown attempt. Riddle with more kicks. Rollins attacks but Riddle takes him down and pounds on him with fists. Rollins tries to get some space but Riddle kicks him in the head.

Riddle jumps up at the cage wall, bounces off it with a big kick to drop Rollins. Riddle mounts Rollins with punches while Rollins covers his head. Cormier tries to get Riddle off but Riddle knocks him back. Cormier then rips Riddle off Rollins, sending him down and telling him he’s here to fight Rollins, not him.

Rollins takes advantage of the distraction and unloads on Riddle to take control. Fans continue singing Rollins’ theme. More back and forth between the two. Riddle takes Rollins down into a Triangle. Rollins breaks it with a thumb to the eye. Rollins launches Riddle into the steel wall and he goes down. Cormier checks on Riddle. Rollins stays on Riddle with a knee to keep him down. Cormier slams Rollins against the steel and holds him there, telling him to not touch him again because he’s here to fight Riddle, not the referee.

Rollins takes back control and rakes Riddle’s face across the steel wall. Rollins with more offense and a big forearm to the back of the neck to put Riddle down. Rollins tells Cormier to count Riddle. Riddle makes it back up at 8. Rollins fights Riddle’s waist-lock off. Rollins with a superkick to the jaw to send Riddle to his knees. Rollins with another big kick to the jaw to put Riddle down. Rollins barks at Cormier to make the count. Riddle goes to get back up at 7 but Rollins attacks and unloads with strikes to keep him down. Rollins talks some trash, calling Riddle a loser. Riddle chops him but Rollins fights off with elbows and shots into the cage wall.

Rollins launches Riddle into the steel wall with a big overhead suplex, forcing Riddle to land on his neck. Rollins climbs up some of the cage wall and hits a big Frogsplash from the top of the Pit. Riddle screams out in pain as Cormier begins counting. Rollins stomps away some more and then stands tall to take it all in as the crowd continues singing his song. Rollins with more trash talking, bringing up Riddle’s family again. Rollins with the Peruvian Necktie submission.

Riddle fights the hold off and levels Rollins with a big RKO outta nowhere for a big pop. Cormier counts while both competitors are down on the mat now. They both get up and start trading big strikes to daze each other. Riddle unloads with a flurry of strikes. Rollins blocks a knee. Rollins blocks another RKO and then puts Riddle down with a big Stomp. Rollins yells at Cormier to count but he’s slow to start the count. Graves and Cole both agree that Cormier should’ve started before he did.

Riddle is back up at 9. Rollins ends up climbing to the top of the Pit, on the catwalk area. Cormier yells at him to get down. Riddle looks up as Rollins taunts him from the catwalk, playing to the crowd as they sing his theme. Riddle finally starts climbing the Pit wall now. Riddle climbs up and applies a submission from on Rollins’ back. Rollins fights free and slams Riddle’s face into the steel wall over and over and over. Cormier continues to bark at them to come down from the catwalk. Riddle catches Rollins with his legs but Rollins counters and turns it into a Buckle Bomb into the corner of the catwalk, sending Riddle into the steel wall of the cage.

Cormier is still trying to get Rollins and Riddle to come down because the finish has to be inside of the ring. Riddle gets up fighting but Rollins drops him on the catwalk with a Pedigree. Rollins yells at Cormier to count. Cormier won’t. Rollins threatens to come down and choke Cormier out. Cormier is trying to explain the rule to Rollins. Rollins stalks Riddle and goes for a Stomp but Riddle side-steps it, then drops Rollins with the RKO. Rollins falls off the catwalk to the mat but he managed to fall down easy as he held onto the edge of the catwalk.

Riddle is back on his feet on the catwalk now. Cormier counts Rollins but he’s still down at 7. Riddle leaps off the catwalk with a huge Broton to Rollins on the mat, when Rollins was flat on his back in the middle of the ring. Riddle yells out in pain and Rollins is also hurting. Fans chant “holy shit!” now.

Cormier counts while Riddle and Rollins are both slow to recover. They get up and Riddle brings Rollins down into a Triangle. Rollins turns it into a powerbomb attempt, nailing Riddle into the steel walls twice, then to the mat. Riddle suddenly traps Rollins in the Triangle now. Rollins screams out and Riddle yells at him to tap. Rollins taps out while Cormier is down in the mix with them to make the call.

Winner: Matt Riddle

– After the match, the music hits as Riddle recovers and stands tall. We go to replays. Cormier raises Riddle’s hand at the entrance-way as Cole acts like he’s signing the show off. Rollins recovers. The lights suddenly go out. Cole asks Graves if they’re still on the air. The “He’s got the whole world in his hands…” song starts playing on repeat. The crowd lights up with fireflies. The camera pans the crowd and a spotlight shines on a life-size version of Huskus The Pig. The spotlight disappears. The next spotlight shines on a life-size version of Mercy The Buzzard. His spotlight goes off. The next spotlight across the crowd shines on a life-size version of Abby The Witch. That spotlight goes out. “In his hands…” continues to play as we see Ramblin’ Rabbit standing in another area of the crowd under a spotlight, which also goes out. Sister Abigail was also shown under a spotlight. The camera then cuts to ringside and we see a head of some sort on top of the announce table, spooking Cole and Graves. The camera then cuts to ringside and we see The Fiend standing at the barrier. Fans pop until the spotlight over The Fiend disappears. The song slows down as other sounds are mixing in with it also. The camera shows what looks to be a ran down version of the Firefly Fun House, with the smaller puppets laid out. A bizarre face is shown on a scrambled TV, speaking in a distorted voice and laugh. The mystery face says, then the lights go black. A light shines on a doorway at the stage as fans pop. A door is kicked open as a bright light shines through. Bray Wyatt now comes walking out with his lantern as the crowd erupts. He’s wearing some sort of caricature mask. Fans chant “holy shit!” now. Wyatt removes the mask and it’s him. The crowd goes wild. The lights go out and Wyatt’s new logo appears on the screen. Extreme Rules goes off the air.
