Great value.

The Philadelphia Eagles were on the clock to make their first Day 3 selection in the 2024 NFL Draft at No. 120 overall … but traded down for the third time in the past two days.

The Eagles made a deal with the Miami Dolphins, who moved up to select Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright.

Here are the terms of the trade:

EAGLES RECEIVE: 2025 third-round pick

DOLPHINS RECEIVE: No. 120

There’s obviously a discrepancy in how future picks are valued. But pick No. 120 is worth 574 points via Over The Cap’s valuation. And a third-round pick is worth somewhere between 687 and 885 points.

So, the thinking here is the Eagles got pretty strong value by willing to be patient. The Eagles currently don’t have a fourth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft so it’s nice to pick up another selection to help account for a missing pick. Also, next year’s draft class is expected to be stronger than this year’s.

Though not picking at No. 120, the Eagles are set to make a selection just a few spots later at No. 123.
