Triple H thanks Rhea Ripley, starts process of crowning her successor

Triple H’s X

We got word of it earlier in the day, but it was still a shock when Rhea Ripley showed up on the April 15 Raw with her arm in a sling to vacate the WWE Women’s World championship. It’s a belt Ripley held for more than a year, and she was the only person to hold it with its current name and design.

If the news hit us hard, imagine how hard it was for Rhea. She got some help dealing with it from her boss, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. He shared a message for the now-former champ on Twitter/X, along with a clip of him consoling her backstage at Raw:

Trips and his team also now need to call one of those audibles they’re always talking about for the women’s main event scene on Monday nights. Details will follow, but for now the answer to the “what is WWE going to do with the Women’s World title?” question is… crown Ripley’s successor next week on Raw.

How? Who will be involved? Liv Morgan, who seemingly turned heel last night gloating about how Rhea’s injury was karmic payback for the one she missed much of the past year with, will almost certainly be involved. Nia Jax also made her case for a title shot on last night’s show.

We should learn more this week, and will obviously see how this plays out next Monday. That show will also feature #DIY challenging Awesome Truth for the redesigned, newly christened WWE World Tag titles.
