The Titans added to their linebacker core on Saturday!

The Tennessee Titans selected North Carolina linebacker Cedric Gray with the No. 106 overall selection in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. This pick fills a massive need on the roster. Gray should immediately contend for a starting gig in a room that includes Jack Gibbens, Chance Campbell, Otis Reese IV, and free-agent signing Kenneth Murray Jr.

Gray was outstanding at this year’s Senior Bowl, routinely capturing scouts’ attention throughout practice reps. He’s an every-down ‘backer that thrived in coverage. Gray is also an excellent blitzer. At the NFL Combine, Gray ran a blazing-fast 4.64 40 with eye-popping splits of 2.67 and 1.58. Gray also leaped a 35.5 inch vertical and 10-foot broad. Gray’s agility drills were disappointing, with a 3-cone of 7.19 and 4.54 shuttle.

Gray led the Tar Heels in tackles for three consecutive seasons, including three straight 100-plus tackle campaigns. In 2023, Gray recorded 121 tackles after a career-high 145 takedowns in 2022. Gray will make a positive impact on Dennard Wilson’s defense.
