The Undisputed Kingdom turns on Kyle O’Reilly to set up a title match on AEW PPV

on

Kyle O’Reilly has been trying to do things on his own since he returned to AEW last month. That didn’t sit well with his buddies in the Undisputed Kingdom, who assumed he would join them.

Tensions escalated when O’Reilly wished Rocky Romero good luck in his non-title match against AEW International Champion Roderick Strong on tonight’s (Apr. 13) Battle of the Belts X. Strong was bothered by Kyle’s implication that Rocky had a chance to beat him, as well as Kyle expressing interest in winning the belt himself.

Strong went on to beat Romero. O’Reilly hit the ring afterwards to congratulate Strong on another win. But then he went to help Rocky to his feet, and that’s when shit hit the fan.

Wardlow immediately took Rocky out with a vicious blow, and Kyle got in the middle to stop his friends from doing any more damage. Roderick Strong responded by blasting Kyle with a rising knee strike and knocking him out. Strong talked trash afterwards, saying Kyle made the wrong decision.

Later in the show, it was announced that O’Reilly will challenge Strong for the International title at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view on April 21.

Here’s the current lineup for Dynasty:

• Samoa Joe (c) vs. Swerve Strickland for the AEW World championship

• Timeless Toni Storm (c) vs. Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World title

• Young Bucks vs. FTR in a Ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team championship

• Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. PAC for the AEW Continental title

• Roderick Strong (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly for the AEW International title

• Julia Hart (c) vs. Willow Nightingale for the TBS title

• Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay

• Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe & Eddie Kingston vs. House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King)

What did you think of this angle between O’Reilly and the Undisputed Kingdom, Cagesiders?
