Jérôme Rothen once again spoke about the work carried out by Igor Tudor at OM. The consultant delivers an uncompromising judgment of the Croatian’s method.

Arrived on short notice to succeed Jorge Sampaoli, Igor Tudor has so far obtained encouraging results. OM currently occupy 2nd place in the Ligue 1 standings, with 59 points obtained in 28 games (i.e. 18 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses). Only Rolland Courbis’ team did better in 1998-1999, with 60 points at the same stage of the competition.

“Tudor struggles to criticize himself”

On the waves of RMC Sports, Jérôme Rothen therefore shared his opinion on the Marseille coach. The consultant is not convinced: “He finds it difficult to be self-critical. His method is good, he has his ideas, but he should change his mind about certain things to play complete matches and for the team to be a little more consistent over 90 minutes. And maybe he will be more consistent over several years”estimated the former PSG player, who had attacked the Croatian from the summer preparation.

OM have shown irregularity in recent weeks. Igor Tudor’s team lost against Nice (1-3) at the Stade Orange Vélodrome, then against PSG (0-3), before sinking in the Coupe de France against Annecy (2-2, 6- 7 on penalties). She also conceded a draw against Strasbourg, at home, before reviving in Reims.

The Marseillais now have an appointment with Montpellier, for a match which could be decisive for the future. The Héraultais are on a big series of 5 wins and 1 draw in 6 games. Michel der Zakarian’s men have moved up to 11th place in the standings and could pose problems for the Phocaeans.

The men of Igor Tudor will certainly be keen to launch their final sprint well, and also to demonstrate that they manage to obtain results in front of their public.
