Coach loves the work ethic of the young signal caller

The Las Vegas put a record-breaking performance together Thursday night. With the Los Angeles Chargers coming to Vegas, they sent them home packing with a 63-21 win.

Aidan O’Connell had his best game statistically, throwing four touchdowns on the day. After the abysmal performance the week before, he was poised and able to execute the offense at a high level.

Head coach Antonio Pierce was happy about his ability to bounce back. O’Connell displayed a work ethic during the week to improve and didn’t let the shut-out on offense get to him.

“Aidan is a rookie, when I was a rookie and I played I made mistakes and I had ugly games. And it’s hard to play the position he plays, he gonna have rough days, and he had a rough day in the office last week,” Pierce said. “But you know what he did on Monday? His ass was the first one in the building. You know what he did yesterday? He was the last one out of the building. He didn’t leave, he stayed here all day until he got it right. Same thing today, didn’t leave the building all day until he got it right.

“He has a great opportunity, no different than me, and he’s taking advantage of it, and tonight, he’s on the winning side.”

O’Connell has three more games to show what he has as an NFL starter. He has played well in two of the last three weeks and continues to get more comfortable as a quarterback. A few fans are not high on him because he is a natural pocket passer, but he shows he can help a team win games in the league.
