Which matchups concern you the most this Sunday?

To borrow what is becoming Dak Prescott’s new catchphrase, “Herewegoo! This Week 15 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills is shaping up to what could become a statement game for both organizations. Both the Cowboys and Bills are trying to legitimize themselves as serious Super Bowl threats and a victory this week would go a long ways to doing just that.

Although the 10-3 Cowboys are projected to be the underdog this week, they seem to be the hotter and more consistent team right now. The 7-6 Bills have lost a lot of close games the season and narrowly escaped the Chiefs last week. Discounting the records of both ball clubs though, these are two talented teams who will be doing everything within their powers to earn the “W” this week.

Today, we are going to take a look at a few key matchups that could help sway the game one way or the other depending on how everything plays out. For the Cowboys, winning each one of these matchups would go a long ways in continuing their current win streak and further cementing themselves as one of the best teams in the league.

James Cook continues to become more and more involved in the Buffalo Bills offensive game plan and has four consecutive weeks with 100+ scrimmage yards heading into this Week 15 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Cook has been the most dangerous in the passing game here recently. Fortunately, the Cowboys have one of the best coverage LBs (90.2) in the league according to PFF, Markquese Bell, to help contain him as both a runner and receiver. The safety-turned-linebacker has been a godsend for Dallas’ defense this season and should play a big part the outcome this week.

Cowboys’ TE Jake Ferguson vs. Bills’ secondary

The Buffalo Bills secondary is looking as if it could be less than 100% entering this Week 15 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Micah Hyde (stinger) is week-to-week and Taron Johnson (ankle) is currently day-to-day. With the need to contain CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and the rest of the Cowboys receivers, Buffalo may be spreading their secondary out a little thin. That could leave ample opportunities for Jake Ferguson to once again make a big impact in the passing game. He’s become one of Dak Prescott’s favorite targets the last several weeks and creates a mismatch against anybody Buffalo could try to cover him with.

Cowboys’ DT Osa Odighizuwa vs. Bills’ RG O’Cyrus Torrence

The Buffalo Bills offensive line has performed admirably protecting Josh Allen this season, but if there is a weak link the Cowboys can exploit its at right guard. O’Cyrus Torrence against Osa Odighizuwa is a matchup that sways heavily in Dallas’ favor. No. 97 has turned himself into the one of the better pass-rushing interior defensive lineman in the league and could have his way this week with Buffalo’s rookie RG. With him collapsing the pocket up the middle, and with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence crashing the edges, the Bills may find it difficult to find any rhythm offensively.
