Las Vegas has worked out Washington State safety

The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly hosted Washington State safety Jaden Hicks for a pre-draft visit.

Let’s take a closer look at Hicks:

Size:

6-3, 212 pounds.

2023 Stats:
He had 75 tackles, two interceptions and 2.5 sacks for the Cougars. He was an honorable mention All-Pac 12 choice.

Career highlights:

Hicks redshirted in 2021 and played one game. He was a third-team freshman All-American in 2022. He had 76 tackles (the most of freshman in the Pac-12) had an interception and a sack.

Hometown kid:

Hicks is from Las Vegas and starred at powerhouse Bishop Gorman. He worked out for the Raiders at their local pro day.

Traits:

Big, strong player who has a nose for the ball. He has room to grow and he won’t turn 22 until August.

How he’d fit in with Raiders:

He has solid upside and he would bring youth to a position where the Raiders could add in the mid rounds. The team’s two starting safeties, Tre’von Moehrig and Marcus Epps, are entering the final year of their contracts.

What’s his draft range?

He hasn’t played a ton of football. His senior season in high school was canceled due to COVID and he played just two seasons at college. Scouts like his upside and skills. He could be a solid Day Three pick.
