Quandre Diggs and Jamal Adams were expected starters, not only for 2023 but with each under contract through at least 2024. The Seahawks spent more than any team in the NFL on safeties in 2023 at more than $28 million. In a single transaction in early March the Seahawks cut Diggs and Adams. One replacement was already on hand — Julian Love, who spent last season as a rotational and backup player and fill-in starter when Adams was sidelined and will take over as a full-time starter.
