With regard to being #AllElite, Goldberg says he wouldn’t be able to look himself in the mirror if he was a member of the AEW roster.

WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg has been vocal about his desire to have one more match, prompting many to ask, who’s next?

From the sounds of it, it won’t be All Elite Wrestling.

Goldberg was a guest on Nebraska’s 93.7 The Ticket, where he was asked if there was ever a conversation between him and Tony Khan about Goldberg becoming #AllElite. After confirming he had been in talks with Khan, Goldberg delivered a verbal kick that would make Bret Hart’s head spin.

“This is where you’re going to get the most blunt answer you’re going to get from me,” said Goldberg. “The product’s too cheesy. The product is too cheesy.”

Following Double or Nothing in 2023, President Tony Khan confirmed that he talked to the former world wrestling champion amid speculation of who Goldberg might wrestle last. Khan was complimentary of the ex-WCW and WWE star, saying, “I have a really good relationship with Bill, so I like him a lot. As to what I’ve talked to him about, I would say that’s just between the two of us. But I’m not gonna lie to you. It was a good chat. I like Bill a lot. He’s a great guy.”

The conversation must not have been that good, at least for Goldberg, whether or not he really is a super great guy. And though he didn’t eviscerate Khan as he did his previous employer, his comments have likely closed the door on the idea of him going to work for Khan, whose outfit Goldberg doesn’t look favorably on.

“If there was a comparable viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, then it would be a consideration. But not a chance.”

Unquestionably, AEW’s passionate fan base is likely to have a measured yet strong response to Goldberg, whose bold candor stands out for this writer as a refreshing contrast in an era when public figures often speak cautiously.
