Alisha Edwards wins her first championship in TNA

on

A momentous evening at Under Siege.

Alisha Edwards had yet to experience the sweet taste of gold this far into her TNA career. That all changed Friday night at Under Siege (May 3, 2024). Alisha can proudly proclaim herself as one-half of the Knockouts tag team champions.

Masha Slamovich had a contractual rematch in her pocket, but partner Killer Kelly was absent. Alisha sensed opportunity and convinced Slamovich to become a new tag team. That strategy paid off with victory in their first match as a duo.

Alisha and Slamovich conquered reigning champions Jody Threat and Dani Luna. The Spitfire punk rockers started strong with a double-team stalling suplex on Slamovich. Alisha pulled a few tricks on the apron for her team to gain control. She was the weak link though, and Luna slammed her on a Falcon Arrow. Slamovich booted Luna in the face on the pinfall to make the save. Spitfire went to work with German suplexes on Slamovich. Alisha brought in a kendo stick to cheat, but Luna caught the swing to block. These shenanigans resulted in a referee distraction, and Alisha whacked Threat with the kendo stick. Slamovich pounced for a gutwrench powerbomb to set up Alisha for a pedigree on Threat to win.

This marks Alisha’s first championship victory in TNA. She has been with the company since 2017. Alisha celebrated with husband Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers, who happen to hold the men’s tag team titles. The System added more gold to its coffer with Moose at the top as world champion. Slamovich is now a three-time Knockouts tag champ.
