The Dolphins rebuilt the special teams unit with the additions of Cam Brown and Siran Neal.

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly adding their second special-teams specialist in hopes of moving on from last season’s struggles.

Jordan Raanan, who covers the New York Giants for ESPN, reported that Cam Brown is signing with the Dolphins. A former sixth-round draft pick, Brown has played at least 80 percent of New York’s special teams snaps in each of the last four seasons.

He earned five special teams tackles in 2023 and has only missed nine such tackles throughout his four-year career, according to PFF. That said, he’s only played 14 defensive snaps since 2021.

Miami has a handful of late-round draft picks that could’ve been used on special teams depth, but the front office preferred experience to solidify the unit. The Dolphins also signed former Buffalo Bills defensive back Siren Neil earlier this offseason.

“One thing I know is special teams is really huge when it comes to the NFL games,” Neal said after signing with the Dolphins. “Special teams play can either win a game or lose a game. That’s one thing I know about it. And that’s on every phase. Like pinning the ball where it needs to be for the offense or defense to get set up to be successful.”
