The tournament runs from February 13 to 19 and will be staged in North Wales for the first time in its history. It’s a stellar line up with Joe Perry defending the title against the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Allen, John Higgins, Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy, Kyren Wilson and home favourite Mark Williams.

In all there are 84 players in the field chasing the Ray Reardon Trophy and a top prize of £80,000 – for the match schedule click here.

A spokesman for WST said: “We are delighted to see such high demand for tickets for this event, which led to the decision to add extra seating to the arena. The Welsh Open is the longest running ranking event other than the World Championship and UK Championship, having been ever present on our calendar since 1992. It has traditionally been in Newport or Cardiff but we have brought it to North Wales this time and fans have snapped up the chance to see the biggest names in our sport competing for a coveted title.

“Llandudno is a stunning location with so much to do for families in half term week. And Venue Cymru is an outstanding setting for world class sport. We are looking forward to a fantastic seven days of snooker in our sport’s golden era.”

Part of the BetVictor Home Nations Series, the event will be televised by BBC Wales, Eurosport, discovery+, CCTV5, Matchroom Live and a range of other global broadcasters.

It is the eighth and final event in the 2022/23 BetVictor Series – with the winner of that race to earn a £150,000 bonus – for details click here. And it’s also the last chance for players to climb into the top 16 of the one-year ranking list and qualify for the Duelbits Players Championship – for details click here.
