AFC playoff implications could be impacted by uncertain injuries in Week 16

The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans both are surprising AFC playoff contenders in 2023. While the Browns thought they would be in the hunt, injuries have decimated a large swath of starters both for the season and throughout the year.

This week we learned that LB Anthony Walker underwent knee surgery that will keep him out at least this week if not more.

The Week 16 matchup in Houston is huge for AFC playoff considerations with the Texans getting some positive injury news for Sunday and Week 17.

The two teams combined to have seven players ruled out for today with four others listed as questionable for the game. With 90 minutes until kickoff, we have the final status update for those four players and who else is on the two inactive reports for Week 16:

Browns Inactive Report

  • LB Jordan Kunaszyk
  • DE Ogbo Okoronkwo
  • S Juan Thornhill
  • LB Anthony Walker
  • CB Kahlef Hailassie
  • OL Luke Wypler
  • DE Isaiah McGuire

Bitonio being active was the key one to watch and great news for Cleveland.

Texans Inactive Report

  • QB CJ Stroud
  • DE Will Anderson
  • LB Blake Cashman
  • DT Teair Tart
  • OL Josh Jones

Not a big surprise with Tart added to the roster today. Texans important questionable players are all active today.
