VIDEO: Detroit Lions leak sneak peek, hints at new uniforms

on

The Detroit Lions offered a little tease at their new uniforms in a promotional video.

On Thursday, the Detroit Lions will unveil a whole new set of uniforms for the 2024 season and beyond. Thus far, the Lions have been very hush-hush about the new design, and there haven’t been any true leaks. The only real updates have been via team president Rod Wood, who has offered purposely vague updates like this.

“They’re honoring our traditional color with a little updating and twist,” Wood said last month. “And it gives us a lot more options, too. We’re going to introduce a couple different pant options that can go with jerseys, so it will give us different options to wear during the season.”

But on Tuesday night, the Lions released a short promotional video hyping up the new uniforms and gave very brief flashes at what are presumably the new uniforms. Check it out:

It’s not a ton to go off of, but here’s a couple of things we noticed upon a few viewings:

  1. The font is a little more blockier, as evidenced by the “O” in Goff. On the old uniforms, the O was rounded. Now it appears to be angled off.

2. The helmets will have blue and white stripes.

You can see a very briefly that the helmet designs do not appear to be too different from before. The left picture is from the promo video. The right is from last year. The main difference here being an added white stripe to the helmet:

3. Blue pants aren’t going anywhere

At the beginning of the video, after cutting to some Lions players, the video cuts to something blue with a silver stripe. It’s possibly pants, but it’s hard to tell. After that, they cut to an undeniable blue set of pants, and that’s about it.

What did you notice from the Lions uniform tease?
