Ilja Dragunov called up to Raw

An NXT call up everyone can get excited about.

Here’s how round eight of the 2024 WWE Draft played out:

1. Raw: The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh)
2. SmackDown: Naomi
3. Raw: Ilja Dragunov
4. SmackDown: Chelsea Green & Piper Niven

Alundra Blayze and Teddy Long were the special guests to announce these selections.

The big news here ended up being NXT star Ilja Dragunov getting his call up to the main roster to join the red brand. He just lost the NXT championship to Trick Williams one week ago and had done everything there was to do there. He’s a fun addition to the show.

Raw also kept The Judgment Day, because of course that would happen with Damian Priest still there. Plus, Dirty Dom is back on the same brand as his dad again!

Meanwhile, SmackDown drafted three women, with women’s title challenge Naomi staying put and the tag team of Chelsea Green & Piper Niven moving over.
