Three days of NFL playoff action is coming your way on Super Wild Card Weekend. Here is the full schedule and how to watch this weekend.

It’s time for the NFL playoffs and for the eighth straight season the Denver Broncos will not be joining the party. That doesn’t mean our love of football has to end. There should be some pretty entertaining games this weekend.

With the expanded playoff format, we’ve got three playoff games from each conference instead of the two we had for decades. That means nearly every team is playing this weekend except for the number one seeded Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers who both will be on a Bye this week.

Let’s preview each game and give our predictions!

Saturday, January 13, 2024

AFC: 2:30 pm (NBC, Peacock, Telemundo)

#5 Cleveland Browns (11-6) at #4 Houston Texans (10-7)

How important is a quarterback? Very if you are the Texans and not at all if you are the Browns. The journey these two teams have made couldn’t be more different. Houston had the second overall pick last year, but thanks to rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud they are now in the playoff dance. Meanwhile the Browns have run through so many quarterbacks this season and just kept on winning. Can Joe Flacco keep the ball rolling for them? I don’t think so.

Prediction: Texans 20, Browns 16

AFC: 6:00 PM (Peacock)

#6 Miami Dolphins (11-6) at #3 Kansas City Chiefs (11-6)

The advantage here between the Chiefs and Dolphins likely has to go towards the home team and the veteran playoff team. The Dolphins offense has been incredible, but where they have struggled is against the better pass defenses with a strong pass rush. The Chiefs have both, so while I’ll be rooting for the Dolphins to take out Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, I think they come up short here in this game.

Prediction: Chiefs 24, Dolphins 20

Sunday, January 14, 2024

AFC: 11:00 AM (CBS, Paramount+)

#7 Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) at #2 Buffalo Bills (11-6)

In a game I think will be less than competitive, the red hot Buffalo Bills should roll at home against a Steelers team that barely made the playoffs. I think it should be a two score win for the Bills here.

Prediction: Bills 31, Steelers 16

NFC: 2:30 PM (FOX, FOX Deportes)

#7 Green Bay Packers (9-8) at #2 Dallas Cowboys (12-5)

I think there will be two non-competitive games this Wild Card Weekend. The first should be the Bills game and the second should be this one between the Packers and Cowboys. The Cowboys defense should be able to get after Jordan Love and their offense should roll against that Packers defense.

Prediction: Cowboys 38, Packers 23

NFC: 6:00 PM (NBC, Peacock, Universo)

#6 Los Angeles Rams (10-7) at #3 Detroit Lions (12-5)

In probably one of the sneakier good matchups, the Rams were 3-6 at one point this season before turning into one of the hottest teams in the league. Their only loss down the stretch was an overtime road defeat to the number one seeded Baltimore Ravens. The Lions have a good enough offense to make this a game even against a team as hot as the Rams, but this has upset written all over it for me.

Prediction: Rams 30, Lions 28

Monday, January 15, 2024

NFC: 6:00 PM (ESPN, ABC, ESPN+, Deportes)

#5 Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) at #4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-8)

One might automatically assume the Eagles win this game, but they are not the same 10-1 team from six weeks ago. Their last season collapse has been incredible. Meanwhile, the Bucs have turned a 4-7 record into a 9-8 AFC South division title. They are playing good football, while the Eagles have not been playing good football. I think this could be an early exit for the Fly Eagles Fly.

Prediction: Buccaneers 24, Eagles 20
