Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have requested to interview Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik for their vacant head coaching position. It represents the second request for Slowik, who also has one from the Washington Commanders. Slowik has deep ties to Titans general manager Ran Carthon, which could make him a frontrunner for the job.
The #Titans have put in an interview request for #Texans OC Bobby Slowik, source said. One of the more impressive offensive minds, he also has a slip from the #Commanders.

Slowik joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 as a defensive quality control coach. He spent the next six seasons (2017-22) alongside Carthon. In 2022, Kyle Shanahan promoted Slowik to offensive passing game coordinator, a one-year stint Slowik parlayed into following DeMeco Ryans to Houston to become his offensive coordinator.
In his first season, Slowik helped oversee a historic rookie campaign for first-year quarterback CJ Stroud. The Texans shockingly won the AFC South division this season. Slowik deserves credit for helping the Texans orchestrate the biggest turnaround from 2022 to 2023.
Prior to arriving in San Francisco, Slowik worked on the now acclaimed 2010 Washington football staffs that also employed Shanahan, Sean McVay, Mike McDaniel, and Matt LaFleur. That staff is currently 4/4 on producing excellent head coaches. If the Titans hire Slowik, hopefully it’ll be 5/5.
