Riot Games is introducing team-specific capsules and skins for the 2024 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT). Here’s what you need to know.

VCT Team Capsules – a collaborative initiative between Riot and the partner teams

Riot Games has crafted a total of 44 capsules, one for each partnered team across the globe. The in-game items will allow fans to support their favorite teams, as 50% of the profits from each team’s collection will be shared with the teams during the year. The capsules will feature:

  • Classic and AR Inspect skins with unique firing audio and recolored muzzle flash.
  • A custom Player Card, co-created with teams.
  • An exclusive Buddy and Spray set.

In 2023, a total of $33 million USD (€30.53 million) was collected from the VALORANT esports capsules and shared with the teams. This season, Riot is looking to provide even more monetization opportunities. Teams were able to co-create the skins, banners, and
cards, customizing the content of each capsule to make it look unique.

“We’re excited to launch the VCT Team Capsules and give fans a way to directly support their favorite teams and express their fandom in-game”, said Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports. “The Capsules represent our commitment to building a thriving economic ecosystem around VALORANT Esports. Together with our partner teams, we are taking the next step to build a sustainable model for
esports and the greatest competitive experience in gaming.

Winners of global events will have special promotions on the store

VALORNAT players will be able to get access to these skins via the in-game Esports Hub for an extended period of availability. Team
Capsules for VCT Americas, EMEA, and Pacific will be available starting from February 21 while the VCT CN skins will be launching in May and coinciding with the Masters Shanghai. China is the newest addition to the VCT circuit, as it has now expanded to four leagues.

According to a release, winners of the global events will also get the privilege of having standalone storefront promotions as a way to reward their performance. With VALORANT gaining increasing popularity and boasting over 28 million active players, there are great fundamentals for yet another explosive season. Top teams are currently competing in Kickoff tournaments to determine the 8 teams for Masters Madrid. In August, instead, the season will conclude with Champions in Seoul, Korea.
