The results from our latest SB Nation Reacts survey are in and Lions’ fans are very happy with the selection of Terrion Arnold but had mixed feelings on the trade to acquire him.

Following the selection of Terrion Arnold, we posted an SB Nation Reacts survey asking Detroit Lions fans their opinion of the pick and to assign a grade for the selection. Because the Lions traded up to secure Arnold, we noted that the trade parameters (Lions gave up pick No. 73 in the third round) should be included in the grading process.

After 24 hours of voting, here are the results:

Based on the readers’ comments, nearly everyone loved the pick and would have given it an “A+” if they didn’t have to trade up to acquire him. All the comments surrounding why “B” grades were delivered were not because of the player but because of the draft capital surrendered to move up in the first round.

Let’s take a look at a few explanations from some of Pride of Detroit’s readers from the comment section of the original article. Note: some responses are lightly edited for ease of reading.

  • Corktown: “The grade for A+ is missing, apparently…”
  • Braamer: “Easy A+ for me.”
  • wickwick: “Love the player, wish we got back more than a 7th. Gave it a B, based on trade capital.”
  • maow cat: “Giving up 29 and 73 to take someone who “should have” been taken around 12 is absolutely worth it.”
  • UlyssesNorris80: “A+ with or without the trade.”
  • wwcjd: “A. You would have to stretch real hard to grade it anything else.”
  • LionsFanInCarolina: “This pick was an A. Five A’s. I thought he was going top 12. No way we’d get him. Perfect culture fit. Amazing player, an amazing person. LFG.”
  • joseph.r.sweeney.5: “A. Swoop in in front of the Packers to get the best CB left.”
