The former (UConn) Huskies guard is headed to Seattle!
The Seattle Seahawks have made it clear: they want to improve inside. After drafting Byron Murphy II in the first round, they decided to bolster the interior of their offensive line by drafting former UConn Huskies guard, Christian Haynes. How will he contribute for the Seahawks? Take a look for yourself!

Nobody locked up @seniorbowl invite earlier this year than UConn’s Christian Haynes, who did enough high-level stuff in Week 1 vs. NCST to earn trip to Mobile.@C_Haynes70 is one of in this year’s OL class and here’s good look what he can do on the move.… pic.twitter.com/Jf5XOGG6x6

A highly athletic interior lineman, Haynes clocked in at a speedy 5.03 in the 40 at the combine, even while weighing in at 317 pounds. An accomplished starter at UConn, he was a four-year starter for the Huskies, blossoming during the 2021 season and allowing just 26 pressures on 1,225 pass blocking snaps over the course of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons combined.
There will certainly be concerns about the level of competition faced by Haynes during his college career while playing against many lower level FBS squads as an independent. However, when given the opportunity against higher level competition, Haynes excelled. Specifically in a game against Clemson in 2021 Haynes allowed just a single pressure on 42 pass blocking snaps.
Now he’ll have a chance to show he can replicated that type of performance against top tier competition each week for the Seahawks.
