Napoli: Osimhen at PSG? The answer

The clan of Victor Osimhen has responded to rumors that send him to PSG, after the coronation of Naples in Serie A.

The rumor of the possible transfer of Victor Osimhen to PSG recently agitated the Italian press. The young Nigerian striker, under contract with Napoli, is performing exceptionally well this season. Luis Campos, the Parisian sports director, would particularly appreciate his profile.

But the entourage of Victor Osimhen clarified the situation with the Mundo Deportivo. “All the information is false. It’s too early to talk about the transfer window.”, said a relative of the player. The Nigerian striker is focusing on his end to the season with Napoli, with whom he scored 26 goals in 32 official matches (plus 4 assists). The player is one of the top scorers in the European leagues.

Osimhen soon extended?

Aged 24, Victor Osimhen is under contract with the Italian club until 2025. No club can therefore start discussions with him without the prior agreement of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

However, the Neapolitan club would be determined to keep its jewel. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the management of the club plans to offer him a contract extension accompanied by a substantial salary increase. Which could allow him to keep it for at least another year.

PSG will probably have to turn to other solutions if they want to strengthen their attack. Presumably Luis Campos is eyeing the Nigerian in case Lionel Messi or Kylian Mbappe leaves the club. But neither player seems to have decided on his future.

As a reminder, Napoli paid 75 million euros to secure the services of the Lagos native in the summer of 2020. The striker has since scored 54 times and provided 14 assists in 94 appearances in all competitions. The price mentioned for his transfer in recent days was 150 million euros.
