Top lane has been invigorated in the past two years. After being considered an island for various seasons, top lane has gained increasing importance and the new map changes make it even more difficult to punish these solo laners.

5. Mordekaiser  – The rising pick

Mordekaiser received a major change in this patch as enemies will no longer be able to cleanse his ultimate with QSS. Paired with a couple of buffs across his kit, Mordekaiser’s pick rate and numbers have gone up consistently. He’s especially effective in the lower Elos since he’s ideal to bully out enemy top laners in isolated scenarios. If you’re proficient at the champion, you can start abusing him to get more wins.

4. Jax – the meta counterpick

Whenever top lane melee champions are meta, Jax comes up as a logical counter. He is able to win most of the matchups thanks to his Counterstrike (E), and as long as you can find the right trades during the laning phase, he can become a big issue for the enemy team later on. Splitpushing works well in solo queue and Jax is one of the best ones at doing that. Get ready to play him as he will be a handy pick in the upcoming weeks.

3. Darius – early-game dominance

Picks come and go but Darius is still among the most popular top lane champions. Why? You may ask. Well, the answer is that a strong Darius player can win almost any matchup and he can easily dominate the mid-game teamfights if he gets the resets going.

One of the best picks to play against tanks, he also fares well against most bruisers. And given that there aren’t many highly mobile meta picks across other roles, it’s easier for Darius to get onto their face and slash them with his axe.

2. Fiora – the queen still holds

For me, Fiora is the top lane version of Lee Sin. What I mean by this is that the champion itself is not super OP, but a great Fiora player can become the enemy’s worst nightmare.

Getting her into a position to take over the games is not easy, but mechanical proficiency and strong game knowledge will allow you to find the slighest margins to capitalize on. Not to mention that he’s much more mobile than most top laners, granting her a much higher outplay potential. The learning curve can be steep, but it will definitely reap benefits once mastered.

1. Camille – She’s back!

Speaking of queens and great carry champions, we’re happy to welcome back Camille as a top priority pick. Her buffs from last patch have pushed her back straight to the top spots, making her the No. 1 pick you should be prioritizing over the next week. She has great dueling potential and scales well later in the game. With front-to-back ADCs in the meta, she’s one of the ideal champions to jump on the back line to take down

the enemy carry.
