The South African Keith Horne won with 277 (71 70 66 70, -11) strokes the final of the Qualifying School of the Legends Tour held at the Gloria Golf Resort in Belek (Old Course, par 72) in Turkey where Michele Reale, 23rd with 290 (72 72 74 72), did not obtain the category 7 ‘card’ which allows him to play full-time on the 2023 circuit.

Keith Horne, results

Horne took the lead after the third round and ended his run with a 70 (-2) due to three birdies and a bogey over the first eight holes and then closing the remaining ten in par without taking any risks, also because the target more than success, was to finish in one of the top five places that allowed ‘cards’. He was followed on the next tour by Englishman Sean Whiffin, second with 279 (-9), Frenchman Lionel Alexandre and Scotsman Greig Hutcheon, third with 280 (-8), and Argentine Gustavo Acosta, fifth with 281 (- 7).

Reale, who had passed Stage 1 with eighth place, remained in the four rounds practically always around the position he then acquired and finished his performance with a 72 (par, three birdies, a bogey, a double bogey).

The former footballer Alain Boghossian, World Champion with France in 1998, took part in the tournament, going out after 54 holes, who wore the shirts of Naples, Sampdoria and Parma in Italy. In 2021, at the Italian Open held at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio (Rome) where the Ryder Cup will take place from 29 September to 1 October, he caddyed his compatriot Alexander Levy.

The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played. They are jointly written and maintained by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body for golf worldwide, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are governed by the United States Golf Association. An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA, oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision has been in force since January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance. The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and manages the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
