Hazbin Hotel Fortnite Emote Added – What is Reapers Showtime?

on

A new Fortnite emote has hit the store over the last day, with some moves players might recognise. While we’re in the midst of a crossover event, another franchise has quietly been added to Fortnite through the Reapers Showtime emote! Is this a Hazbin Hotel Fortnite emote and will more content be coming as a crossover?

Fortnite has tons of collabs, right now we’re in the middle of a full few weeks of Ninja Turtle fun. However, for every franchise that gets a major splash in the Battle Pass or Fortnite item shop, there’s some that come in a bit smaller. A Hazbin Hotel Fortnite emote definitely falls into the latter category. On the surface, this is just a normal emote, but fans have dug a little deeper and discovered it ties into the Hazbin Hotel cartoon. Does this mean more is coming in the future?

Hazbin Hotel Fortnite Emote in Item Store

One of the new emotes added to the store this week is a Hazbin Hotel Fortnite emote. This is the Reapers Showtime dance. According to fans of the series, this is a tie-in to the Hazbin Hotel series. A new animated comedy, Hazbin Hotel has found a cult following. It was originally produced through an animator’s Patreon, but has shot to popularity after being picked up by Amazon Prime Video. This new emote isn’t directly from the show though.

The Reapers Showtime emote is a dance where players pull out a scythe and dance with it. The emote is from the Icon Series since it features a licenced song by Black Dryph0n. However, it also takes its moves from a popular video of Hazbin Hotel. This has led players to assume this is a Hazbin Hotel Fortnite emote!

The new emote definitely isn’t a full crossover. The game’s store doesn’t point out the link, it’s just making use of a popular viral clip lately for its moves. Its arguable if this is even a licenced emote outside of the music. It seems rather than a full crossover, the Reapers Showtime emote is just Epic making use of a franchise’s dance moves for its own emotes! Some of the rarest Fortnite emotes were from a similar source.

Will There Be a Full Crossover?

This new emote is fun, but will we get skins and other items from the show in Fortnite? At the moment, this emote doesn’t indicate anything bigger is in the works. If fans are holding out for a full skin of their favorite character, it might be best to keep an eye on Fortnite skin surveys. These are usually where Epic first sounds out upcoming collabs, and we might see more from this series pop up on there soon.
