Full Swing, the long-awaited NetFlix series on the PGA Tour, has not yet been released but already news about the filming is circulating. Revelations made by producer Chad Mumm and series creator Paul Martin.

Brooks Koepka, NetFlix

Brooks Koepka was to be one of the central characters of Full Swing, the NetFlix series devoted to the PGA Tour which is scheduled for release on February 15.

The quadruple winner of Major had been chosen to appear in the first episode but it was considered too dull, too sad by the directors of Full Swing.

Losing momentum in his game, Koepka appears disappointed and the screenwriters quickly decide to change their tune, leaving the ex-world number 1 to his wedding preparations…

Fortunately, the fabulous destiny of Matt Fitzpatrick will largely supplant the existential crisis of the American. The Englishman’s victory in the US Open at Brookline is followed from the inside by the cameras of the series.

Long hours of filming had to be devoted to this episode which takes us behind the scenes of a very moving story of friendship, but according to the producers the game was worth the effort and the rendering is exceptional!

The other unexpected spring from which Full Swing will benefit is the sudden irruption of LIV Golf and its fabulous offers on the chessboard of planetary golf.

It would have been impossible not to deal with this subject which has completely changed the face of golf in a few months, we explain at NetFlix.

“Look, if I wanted to be cynical, I’d say that was the dream script for the show. It caused so much drama, questions and dilemmas for the players who are our characters. It blew up the story! “says Paul Martin, of Box to Box films, in charge of filming.

Season 1 of Full Swing promises to be so explosive that Chad Mumm, the producer, would think about a season 2. This one would already be in preparation. The Ryder Cup and the stakes it represents for players could serve as a common thread for this new chapter.

Brooks Koepka played golf at Florida State University in Tallahassee and, as an amateur, won three tournaments and was a three-time All-America. He went on to qualify for the U.S. Open 2012, where however he did not pass the cut.

In the same summer he turned professional, participating in the Challenge Tour. He won his first title at the Challenge de Catalunya, while in the following season he won the Montecchia Open and triumphed at the Challenge de España, where he set the record score of the competition, 260 (-24) , winning by as many as 10 strokes. Three weeks later, with victory in the Scottish Challenge, he earned a chance to contest the European Tour for the rest of 2013 and into 2014.

In this year he won the Turkish Airlines Open and finished third at the Dubai Desert Classic and the Omega European Masters. Finishing eighth in the Race to Dubai standings, he was named “Rookie of the Year”. In 2015 also comes the first title on the PGA Tour, the Phoenix Open. At the Open Championship he finishes tenth and at the PGA Championship he finishes fifth. At the end of the season he renounces to participate in the European Tour.
