Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed that he is fully healthy ahead of the 2023 season.

Late in the 2022 season, Alcaraz was battling knee and abdominal injuries.

Even though Alcaraz secured an ATP Finals ticket a long ago, he didn’t make his ATP Finals debut this year after an abdominal injury forced him to skip the prestigious season-ending tournament.

This past weekend, Alcaraz returned to action at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

In his first match, Alcaraz suffered a straight-set loss as Andrey Rublev saw off the Spaniard 6-2 6-1-

In the match for the third place, Alcaraz suffered another loss as Casper Ruud defeated the Spaniard 6-1 6-4.

Alcaraz: I’m fully healthy but now will everyone will want to beat

“I feel good finally. I had a month to recover well the ab and right now I feel almost 100 percent. I have been training normally this past week and I’m feeling great. Of course having a target on my back from everyone is going to be a little bit different for me this year and I have to be prepared for that. I’m going to try to finish 2023 at the same position as right now. It’s going to be a long year but of course I’m going to enjoy,” Alcaraz said.

After concluding his 2022 season, Alcaraz admitted that he positively surprised himself with his results this year.

Before the 2022 season started, Alcaraz revealed his goal for 2022 was to finish ranked inside the top-15 and to earn an ATP Finals place.

In the end, Alcaraz ended up winning a Grand Slam, two Masters titles, as well as becoming the youngest No 1 in tennis history.

In 2023, Alcaraz will certainly be extremely motivated to achieve more great things.

Alcaraz’s first big goal in 2023 will be to win his first Australian Open title.

Earlier this year, Alcaraz made the Australian Open third round before falling short to Matteo Berrettini in five sets.
