It was a positive day for Burrow in his return to practice.

Monday was a huge day for the Cincinnati Bengals as quarterback Joe Burrow made his return to the practice field.

Since his injury last season, there have been a lot of changes to the Bengals, including Burrow now having a new quarterbacks coach.

Former QBs coach Dan Pitcher was promoted to offensive coordinator this offseason, turning the QB coach duties over to Brad Kragthorpe.

During Burrow’s first workout of the offseason, Kragthorpe saw exactly what Bengals’ fans wanted him to see from Burrow.

In an interview with Geoff Hobson, Kragthorpe talked about QB1 and how he looked like the old Joe Burrow we’re all used to seeing.

“I think he looked as quick and as athletic as I’ve seen him look,” Kragthorpe said. “He looked like the Joe Burrow we’re used to seeing. I didn’t see any difference. I thought the ball came out of his hand well. Confidently. I’m happy where he’s at.”

Kragthorpe was an offensive assistant with Burrow at LSU back in 2018 before joining the Bengals’ coaching staff.

Aside from Ja’Marr Chase, Kragthorpe has seen Burrow throw more in person than anyone else in the organization, so we should trust what he has to say about Burrow’s throwing.

However, a newer teammate of Burrow’s was also impressed with the workout, as wide receiver Andrei Iosivas liked what he saw as well.

“He was pushing it on the deeper throws down the field,” said Iosivas. “He was slinging it and really putting some heat on those (passes).”

Burrow is not used to having a normal offseason since getting to the NFL, but seeing him back on the field in May should have fans crossing their fingers that this is the year he gets to prepare for the season normally.
