BLG Bin and the breakdown of the match against T1

The interview was performed in Chinese and later translated into English.

Hello everyone, I’m Davide from Esports.net, and joining me today is Bin from BLG. Hi Bin, first of all, congratulations on your victory today. Can you share how you are feeling right now and how would you rate your performance?

Right now, I’m quite happy but not too excited since it’s just a bracket stage match, and not the finals. I’m already thinking about how we should handle GenG in the upcoming match.

Let’s talk about today’s match. There were many exciting moments during the series, the first being Knight’s first blood by solo killing Faker. Do you remember how your team reacted at that moment?

We just said “nice” because a solo kill didn’t mean we would win, so we just kept focus on the rest of the game. But seeing him get a solo kill was still encouraging, and it was great to see him play so well.

In the first game, there was also a moment where you went 1v3 as Vayne, which reminded everyone of peak Uzi performance. What would you like to say about that performance?

Overall, I played quite well, although there were a few minor flaws. In that 1v3, even though I was canceling my auto-attacks because Ksante had built Frozen Heart which reduced attack speed, I didn’t notice it at the time. But overall, it was still a good play.

What were the key factors you noticed in this series? It seemed like mid lane priority has become very important.

Nowadays, top and bottom lanes are often swapped so mid-lane champions are quite crucial. In the first game, we chose Taliyah and in the second game, they chose Taliyah. They lost the first game and won the second.

Jackeylove, who I interviewed yesterday, mentioned he thinks the champion choices for mid, top, and jungle are more important than the bot lane. Do you agree with his view, or do you have a different opinion?

I think the top and bot lanes are similar because they involve the same champions, but mid lane can have a larger impact on the overall game based on who has priority and better initiative. Top lane champions are pretty much the same —it’s either tanks or ranged champions.

Could you share your opinion on T1 Zeus’ performance? Besides him, are there other players you’d like to face?

I think Zeus is definitely one of the strongest top laners, so I’m very happy to have won against him today. Besides him, I think Kiin is also very strong, but I feel Kiin might be slightly less challenging compared to Zeus because he tends to play more conservatively. So, I think the next time we face him, the advantage might be bigger.

You mentioned Kiin; your next match is against Geng, so what is your impression of them?

Geng is a team that focuses on macro and play defensively and, counter-attacking. They might be more stable compared to T1, but this also means they have fewer opportunities for aggressive plays. We are confident about 3-0ing them since we won against them all last year.

MSI still includes the two Western teams G2 and Team Liquid. What’s your evaluation of these two teams and what prediction do you have for the upcoming matches? TES will face G2, and Team Liquid will play against T1.

Team Liquid against T1, I think T1 will win. TES versus G2 might be a close match because G2’s champion pool is quite deep, including their top laner who plays Zac really well. Also, they handle lane swaps smartly, so G2 is also a potential contender for us.

If T1 and G2 were to rematch, who do you think would win?

If they play again, I think T1 would win more easily because they’re the type of team that performs better the second time around. But it’s uncertain, it depends on the players’ form. That said, I think G2 has an advantage in this meta.

I first met you at MSI in London last year. What changes have you or your team undergone over the past year?

Our team has gotten stronger than last year. Personally, I have a better understanding of the picks and a deeper champion pool. Last year, I would get countered and woud just not care as much and went all out but this year I’m being more considerate.

Here’s a fan question: Do you have any special habits before a match, like a specific warm-up or eating certain foods?

I don’t have any particular habits before a match; I just “go hard” because I’m always a bit nervous before a game. But I don’t think any particular action or move would make me less nervous. After all, we can always come back if we lose, and there are wins and losses in matches. If we are stronger, we will win, so I don’t worry too much.

Our interview is coming to an end. Today is also Mother’s Day, and I heard your parents are also here at the venue. Is there anything you’d like to say to them?

First, I want to wish my mom a happy Mother’s Day, and thank my parents for raising me so well. They watched our game today, and we won, so they must be very happy.

Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? If possible, in English.

Our team is best in the world and we will beat Gen.G, we will beat every team in MSI. We will be MSI Champions, thank you – support me!
