Jaguars, EverBank agree on tentative stadium naming rights extension (Big Cat Country)

With the Jaguars’ current 10-year, $43 million stadium naming rights deal with EverBank set to expire at the end of the 2024 season, a decision on the future of the stadium was imminent. Once approved, the extension agreement will take effect at the conclusion of the 2024 season and continue through the 2027 season. At that time, the Jaguars are projected to open the 2028 season in the new stadium (name pending).

Jaguars History: 2002 Season (Big Cat Country)

Last offseason, I asked on Twitter and Facebook what you consider the Jaguars’ best season. After reading your responses, I highlighted the 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2007, and 2017 seasons. With the Jacksonville Jaguars entering their 30th season this year, I thought now would be a good time to revisit the rest of their seasons. We’ve already looked at 1998, 2000, and 2001, so let’s continue with the 2002 season.

Jaguars community contributions: Travon Walker Foundation (Big Cat Country)

The Foundation focuses on creating jobs and community development in Thomaston, business/financial literacy to help younger generations make informed financial decisions to establish financial security, and youth sports. They also plan to make a $4,400 donation 44 times a year to different organizations that align with the Foundation’s values.

“Stay healthy,” Pederson said when asked what he wants to see from the team. “This next phase, it’s good to be able to have a little competition and compete against each other but within the rules we’ve got to make sure we protect each other. Just don’t want any injuries.”

“I’ve always had great vision,” Etienne said. “I feel like for me, it’s more about just being more disciplined, not trying to get a touchdown every time I touch the ball. I feel like college kind of ruined me with that, just being able to get the ball and just score touchdowns every play.”

Etienne said his focus now is “getting back and understanding the flow of the game, understanding the whole totality, understanding the bigger picture.”

“I had a year off [in 2021 and] I wanted touchdowns and the ball is [held] a little loose,” Etienne said. “I was out there playing backyard football and I quickly understood that [in] the NFL everybody’s professional and I just tightened my ball up a little. You’ve seen that last season I had zero fumbles and I feel like it’s only going to continue to get better. Improving and just having a conscious effort of just understanding the ball is the most important thing.”

PFF: Jaguar’ Trevor Lawrence Has Thrown Lowest Rate of Checkdowns Over Last 2 Seasons (Jaguar Report)

According to Pro Football Focus, Lawrence actually leads the NFL in one critical stat since the firing of disgraced head coach Urban Meyer. In the last two years, Lawrence has the lowest rate of checkdown passes of any quarterback in the NFL with at least 300 attempts. In that span, Lawrence has dropped back 1,282 times and has attempted 48 checkdowns at a 3.74% rate.

Josh Allen was an easy choice for this exercise last year, and it’s even easier ahead of 2024. His 84.7 overall grade in 2022 jumped to 89.4 in 2023 thanks to his 16.5 sacks.

The Jaguars might be in front of the Cardinals if not for the fact that Doug Pederson keeps trying to make Press Taylor happen. Drew Petzing is a significant advantage for Arizona in that area, and that, plus the Cards adding Marvin Harrison Jr. while the Jags lost Ridley and replaced him with Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas Jr., was enough to push Arizona ahead despite our giving Trevor Lawrence the nod over Kyler Murray.

From kicker to fixer-upper: Former Jaguar Josh Lambo’s fabulous midcentury home renovation (Times-Union)

Utilizing what he called “an extensive Pinterest board,” Lambo conducted meticulous research to find the perfect materials, finishes and fixtures for his new home. He had the flooring replaced with poured concrete, which keeps an air of modern luxury while also serving a practical purpose — it’s easy to clean.
