AEW is back to drawing its worst numbers in years for Tony Khan injury angle

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Apr. 24) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer, Dynamite netted 683,000 viewers and a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. These numbers are both down from last week’s 762K and 0.26, respectively.

Dynamite aired live coast-to-coast in the USA last night due to the sports playoffs schedule, and Meltzer estimates that timeslot change (moving out of prime time) on the west coast cost AEW about 8% in the live numbers. The overall drops in viewership and the demo rating compared to last week are in the 10% to 12% range, for what it’s worth. Audio issues plauged parts of the show too, which AEW President Tony Khan says was on TBS’ end.

This is Dynamite’s lowest viewership number on a Wednesday since Jan. 6 2021, when the numbers were swallowed up by coverage of then-President Donald Trump inciting an insurrection on the United States Capitol building.

This week’s demo rating of 0.23 is tied for Dynamite’s lowest mark since October 2021. It’s the third time Dynamite has drawn that demo rating across the last five episodes.

This was the Dynasty fallout episode of Dynamite, which closed out with Jack Perry’s return to the show and The Elite injuring Tony Khan with a spike piledriver. Will the angle catch on enough to help improve the numbers from here? Come back next week to see where the numbers go from here.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW Dynamite viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
