The Miami Dolphins added offensive tackle Patrick Paul from Houston with the 55th overall pick. How do you grade the selection?

The Miami Dolphins used the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to address their offensive line, adding the heir apparent to left tackle Terron Armstead. Coming out of Houston, Patrick Paul gives the Dolphins a player who can develop into their franchise left tackle for the next decade. At 6-foot-7.5, 331 pounds, Paul is a giant of a man who could become a monster around whom edge rushers have to find a way to get around.

But the problem may be the “develop” part of that paragraph – Paul seems to need time to be coached with the goal of being a top-tier tackle. Knowing they have Armstead and Austin Jackson set to start at the two tackle positions, Miami seems to be bettering on Paul being a starter in 2025 rather than in 2024.

Was that the right move for the team? How would you grade the pick? Vote in the poll below and head to the comments at the bottom of the page to discuss your choice.
