New York Jets QB Zach Wilson

New York Jets quarterback Mike White will miss his second straight game with a rib injury, meaning that Zach Wilson will make his second straight start since being benched.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced during his press conference Tuesday that White has yet to be cleared for contact. White suffered a rib injury in Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills, ruling him out of Sunday’s contest against the Detroit Lions.

With a short week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jets will turn to former starter Zach Wilson. Wilson made his first start since Week 11 Sunday against the Lions, finishing 18-for-35 for 317 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception on 14.2 intended air yards per pass attempt, per Next Gen Stats

At 7-7, New York currently has a 25.1% chance of making the postseason. They currently sit a game behind the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins in record and, despite sharing a 7-7 record with the New England Patriots, lose the tiebreaker because of head-to-head record.

So that means White can get the last 2 starts and any post-season ones?  That will make the off-season awkward as you would really like a better sample size than 5-6 games before penciling him in as the starter. I would still keep him, a worst he’s a (cheap) bridge, and he may be worth something.
