Who is Slayer?

Guilty Gear Strive’s DLC support has seen a few different types of characters. We’ve got fresher inclusions, but often more popular ones are those returning from past GG games. Slayer is one of these, having appeared a few times before Guilty Gear Strive.

The new character first appeared back in Guilty Gear XX. However, he also popped up in Xrd, one of the most popular fighting games of the entire series. While he’s new to Strive, this past means quite a few players have already learned a bit about Slayer. Whether you’re brand new to the character though or an old fan, we’ll get our hands on with the fighter very soon.

When Does Slayer Release in Guilty Gear Strive?

In April, off the back of the EVO Japan GGS tournament, we had a full announcement of what we can expect with Slayer. The character will be added to Guilty Gear Strive on May 30th! This will be the release date for the character in full and there’s a trailer available showcasing how they’ll play.

The character will be available as part of the Season 3 Battle Pass. This is the final inclusion but those who have already purchased the pass will be able to unlock Slayer as soon as he releases in the game. We’re still expecting a fourth Season of Guilty Gear Strive content though, so keep an eye out for the next announcements about new characters.
