When Does Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 5 Start?

Fortnite is moving into a new season very soon, Chapter 5 Season 3. This will be the third on our current map, and it’s one we actually know quite a lot about already. We know the Chapter 5 Season 3 release date as usual. However, we also know what general theme the game is going to have and how everything like that will work.

At the moment in Fortnite, we’re looking at one more event before the season ends. We’ve got Fortnite X Star Wars crossover back in a few days. However, then there’s a brand-new season dropping. This is what we know about Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 5.

When Will Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 5 Be Released?

Each Fortnite season has to come to an end, and C5 S2 is due to end on May 24th! That’s just the planned end date though. All Fortnite seasons get these from day one as the expiry date for the Battle Pass, but it doesn’t always mean it’s the absolute end.

Instead, Epic can sometimes shift things around towards the end. Most recently, we saw downtime extended by days for the launch of the last season. Effectively pushing back the start date. Hopefully, Epic has things in line a bit more this time. Although it’s worth keeping in mind we could expect to see a delay with Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.

What’s Coming in Fortnite C5 S3?

The new season of Fortnite will be a brand-new start for the game, well not as much as a new Chapter but seasons are always big refreshes too. We do know quite a bit about the game thanks to recent Fortnite leaks. These have taught us a lot about how the game is changing.

The big theme is apparently going to be the apocalypse. This was from the recent roadmap leak. We can see a dusty, deserty area in the pixelated image. This will likely be with new weapons and POIs that have been wrecked.

In terms of new features, leakers have pointed to a vehicle hijack feature coming. Vehicle-to-vehicle combat would fit a Mad Max aesthetic. Other features like new weapons haven’t leaked just yet. However, with the central theme already out there we have a good idea of what kind of tone we’re going to get once the season releases.
