One of Canada’s biggest fighting game events for Tekken is kicking off this weekend, Electric Clash 2024. This is a tournament with a few differences from your standard fighting game tournament. We’re looking at an event entirely focused on Tekken 8! This is the newest release in the Tekken series and a major game in the FGC right now, it’s great to see even more events specifically focusing on this game.
The tournament is being put on by Incendium Gaming, with a decent prize pool and quite a few sign-ups already. Focusing only on Tekken, it’s an interesting inclusion in fighting game esports for the week. What can we expect at the Electric Clash 2024? This is how the tournament will work.

Electric Clash 2024
The Electric Clash 2024 tournament is taking place on April 20th, going on for the whole day. It’s all happening at Humber College. While there’s a prize, this is also a Challenger tier event on the Tekken World Tour. Along with the $2,000 prize pool here, getting more progression on the new TWT should make this a vital event.
The main game for the event is Tekken 8. We’ve seen quite a few major players sign up already including Shadow 20z kkokkoma, and JoKa. There are tons of players already registered outside of these though. As this is a LAN, you can expect a higher level of play than you’ll see in the Tekken ranking system if you’re mainly used to online.
The whole event will take place over a single day, but the format is a little wider. We’re getting two full waves of pools, before a Top 24 bracket and eventually a Top 8.
Tekken 8 is one of the biggest fighting games active right now. It’s the most recent release from the series, but also one of the most recent major releases in the wider genre too. The game will be featured at this event but across tons of tournaments in the Tekken World Tour. If you’re interested in seeing which North American players are already getting ahead in the rankings, the Electric Clash 2024 will be a nice peak at how things are developing for the year.
