WATCH: Tom Brady suffers extremely relatable fail attempting golf drive

on

Tom Brady couldn’t shine under the lights at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as he got a little stiff on a drive and almost missed the ball entirely.

Brady was using a Titleist TSR3 for this drive, but it seems he wasn’t able to customise it. And as any golfer knows, you need an excuse so that is obviously why he scuffed his effort.

“Driver was off the rack,” Brady tweeted. “Turns out they don’t do breakfast balls at Pebble.”

Brady and partner Keegan Bradley didn’t put up much of a fight during the two-day tournament so the top probably didn’t cost the future Hall of Famer anything in that respect. They scored consecutive 66s to finish T20 at 12 under, five strokes behind Jeff Rhodes and Rory McIlroy.

Brady did, however, lose to Josh Allen and his partner Keith Mitchell in a quarterback duel. In addition to beating Brady and Bradley, the Buffalo Bills quarterback (who had one more handicap stroke than Brady for the week) shot 61 in the better ball format on Friday to finish at 14 under. He also defeated Beau Hossler and Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets.

Allen told reporters it was the first time he beat Brady in “anything” and that he would be savouring the moment for a long time.

“It feels good, it feels real good. We had a minor bet, not monetary, but some good pride and some other things,” Allen said. “Felt good to beat him. Wish I would have that happened on the football field, but we’ll take it where we can get it with him.”

A storm affecting the Monterey Peninsula over the weekend wiped out the final round of the event.

Although conditions were forecast to improve through Monday morning, after consultation with Monterey County emergency authorities, who implemented a Shelter in Place order for the greater Pebble Beach community, and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all constituents, The PGA Tour announced there would be no further play.
