A look at what Coach Carroll is up to at Montlake.

The Washington Huskies are in the middle of spring practice under new head coach Jedd Fisch. There have been some distinguished, familiar faces at these practices in recent days, one of whom is none other than Pete Carroll.

Carroll may no longer be the Seattle Seahawks head coach, but his energy and never-ending love of competition is not going away any time soon. Just have a look at this video and the jump ball contest he has between the Huskies offense and defense.

Running back Jonah Coleman picked the wrong man to jump against. Linebacker Carson Bruener (son of former Huskies TE and NFL veteran Mark Bruener) got him in the end!

“It’s always been about competing,” Carroll said. “It’s always been about competing. It don’t matter who you’re playing, it doesn’t matter where you play, what color uniforms they wear. The day that you play, you are the one that’s competing.”

Pete has multiple ties to the Huskies coaching staff. Fisch was on Carroll’s inaugural Seahawks staff back in 2010, and his son Brennan Carroll is the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

Of course, Pete isn’t the only coaching great with familial ties to the Huskies. Washington’s defensive coordinator is Steve Belichick, the son of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. It’s still a bit surreal to see Belichick wearing a Huskies hoodie.

Something tells me Belichick isn’t providing that same level of energy as Carroll.
