Raiders draft 2024: Is Trey Taylor a fit?

The Raiders are interested in Air Force safety

Among the players Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly having a pre-draft visit with is Air Force safety Trey Taylor.

Let’s take a closer look at Taylor:

Size:

6-0, 210 pounds.

2023 Stats:

He had a huge season and he won the Jim Thorpe sward, which goes to the best defensive back in the country. He was a first-team All-American. He allowed on touchdown in coverage all season and three interceptions.

Career highlights:

He played at the East-West Shrine Game in 2024. He started 13 games and had a team high 69 tackles in 2022. He was named to the second-team All-Mountain West team. After not playing in 2019 and ‘20, Taylor started 10 games for Air Force in 2021 and had 62 tackles.

Good bloodlines:

Taylor is a cousin of Pro Football Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed.

How he’d fit in with Raiders:

He projects as a free or nickel safety in the NFL with lots of upside. The Raiders could use some youth at the position.

What’s his draft range?

Scouts are buzzing about him he could be fairly early pick on Day Three.
