Ubisoft Confirms What’s Next For Rainbow Six Siege

on

Ubisoft recently released a mid-season update detailing some of the biggest changes coming in Year 9 of Six Siege. Following the successful launch of Operation Deadly Omen, Ubisoft is looking forward to more quality-of-life and content-based improvements in Rainbow Six Siege. In the last few months, this game has gone from strength to strength, soaring in popularity during February’s Six Invitational tournament and holding firm ever since.

With no sign of ever slowing down, Ubisoft is preparing to publish a series of sizeable changes in Six Siege. From improvements to the anti-cheat systems and map changes to the launch of the game’s developing marketplace system, there’s plenty for players to look forward to on the horizon.

In a recent blog post explaining what’s coming next, Ubisoft revealed all about the immediate future of Rainbow Six. Firstly, the in-game Siege Marketplace will be launched globally. Until now, it has remained in a beta phase and hasn’t gained too much traction, but a worldwide launch should pump it full of transactions. Ubisoft then confirmed that efforts to ‘double down’ on anti-cheat measures are continuing, and in Season 2 of Year 9, the focus will be shifted to target cheaters on Steam.

There’s a balancing update inbound for Fenrir and Solis, which will be ‘crucial to maintaining the competitiveness of Siege’, Ubisoft said.

New players will be able to take advantage of a fresh map training playlist, which’ll include ‘Endless Drill’ and a range of other presents. Talking of maps, Ubisoft is introducing a brand-new filtering feature when searching for a match in the Standard Playlist. This will allow users to target their favourite maps at the press of a button.

Recently, Ubisoft discussed intentions to revamp the in-game Reputation System. That was touched on again by the firm, with it being confirmed that in Y9S4, the system will come out of beta and ‘enhance your experience in terms of transparency, effectiveness, and overall fairness.’

Finally, there’s a quality-of-life improvement being lined up for the After-Action Screen, which has been dubbed ‘2.0’. This will allow players to get ‘an accurate and insightful recap of each match of Rainbow Six Siege’.

That’s everything revealed so far. Ubisoft will publish an in-depth look at the upcoming changes in a grand reveal taking place on May 26. That’s due to drop during the BLAST R6 Manchester Major.
