NFL star quarterback Patrick Mahomes appeared in a segment on Raw last month in Kansas City, where he is basically a beloved god for leading the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins over the last five years.
The segment itself was rather bizarre, as local hero Mahomes actually played heel by aligning with hated YouTube douchebag Logan Paul opposite babyfaces Jey Uso and Braun Strowman. Mahomes gave his Super Bowl rings to Paul to use as a weapon against Jey, but the scheme completely backfired.
Pat McAfee later tried to make sense of the whole thing by explaining that Mahomes was a fan of Jey Uso and knew he would duck Logan’s punch attempt with the rings. The Super Bowl MVP tried to play along with that theory today during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, while almost admitting that he shit his pants at the sight of the “big dude” Braun Strowman.
“I’ve seen enough to know that Jey Uso is good about getting out of those situations. When he does the YEET, that was intense, man. I loved that.
At the same time, though, that’s my man Logan. I know he’s not the biggest fan favorite over there in the WWE, but I had to try to help him out a little bit.
But I was definitely scared of the big dude. The big dude was a lot bigger than I expected to see…I was very glad and thankful for Jey Uso, of getting him out of there, ‘cause I was not ready to go.”
Mahomes said he loved being at Raw and should have gotten in the ring to show off his skills. It didn’t take long at all for Triple H to extend an offer for Mahomes to return to WWE to make that happen:
