The latest Fortnite update has brought back all of our Fortnite Star Wars content! It’s a big patch, with a ton of new stuff for every mode of the game. In Battle Royale, there are two fresh Mythics. One is coming with Chewbacca, the other though is a unique returning item with Darth Vader in Fortnite.
Rather than being all over the lootpool, lightsabers have been pared back a bit in the latest Fortnite update. If you want to secure the best Mythic version of them, you’ll need to track down a specific character. Unlike other bosses, this one isn’t at a set landing spot either. There’s an element of randomness to finding Darth Vader in Fortnite. How can you track the character down every game?
While things are random, you can prepare for Vader and make sure you’re landing nearby. This is how the returning boss works in Chapter 5 and how you can track him down.

Where to Find Darth Vader in Fortnite
In Fortnite, Darth Vader is landing in each game of Battle Royale! Unlike Hades or Zeus though, he’s actually only available in a random spot. He flies in each game in his spaceship. This can land at quite a few different spots, so you won’t know until you’re on the bus. There are different encampments and any of them could be home to him. How do you pick your Fortnite landing spot to find Vader then?
That doesn’t mean you have to spend the game roaming the island vainly searching for him though. You can actually find out where he’s going to go before you make your decision on when to jump. To find Darth Vader in Fortnite, you just need to watch for his shuttle’s landing spot while you’re on the battle Bus.
As the bus is flying over the island, you’ll see Vader’s ship already down on the ground. In past seasons you physically saw his ship. This time he’s already landed though, what you need to do is watch for a red light. You’ll see this on the bus. Land at the red light and you’ll find Vader.

Once down on the ground, you’ll find an encampment containing a few Imperial Chests. Plus, Vader and some henchmen wandering around the grounds.
What Does Darth Vader Drop?
That’s how you can track him down. Watching for a red light every game and landing somewhere different is a lot more fuss compared to the other Chapter 5 mythics though. So, what’s on offer if you do take him down? Vader drops the Mythic lightsaber we saw introduced to the game with past seasons.

He has the normal health pool from past Chapters, he hasn’t been buffed like the more recent bosses. Given he can throw you around and teleport in front of you though, it’s still a bit of a pain if you land directly on him. The Fortnite lightsaber is a fun item though.
This lightsaber works similarly to the other ones as a Fortnite melee weapon. However, it has extra features like being able to be thrown. It’ll be a big help in games this season if you can manage to track down where Vader’s landed this time.
