Following AEW Dynasty, President Tony Khan has the necessary pieces to help pull the company out of its recent doldrums.

After an impressive victory by Will Ospreay and a historic achievement by the new AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, All Elite Wrestling has two dynamic young stars whose future rivalry could translate to ratings and box office success. Further bolstering the promotion is Women’s Champion Toni Storm, whose character work is among the best in the game.

Still, AEW could use additional help from some key players currently on the sidelines. During -show press conference, Khan addressed some of those absent, most notably MJF.

“MJF, one of the biggest stars in AEW, we haven’t seen him in recent months. I would love to get MJF back here sooner. Sooner than later, like really soon,” said Khan.

After losing the AEW World Title last December and amidst contractual uncertainty, MJF was removed from the company’s roster page. However, reports indicated that he is still under contract with AEW and recovering from injuries.

Someone else who could spice up the world title picture is former champion Kenny Omega. According to F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer, Omega, who was diagnosed with diverticulitis in December, initially tried to avoid surgery for his condition but will likely undergo the procedure and is awaiting a date. His absence is especially felt at All Elite.

“We miss Kenny Omega,” said Khan. “I’ve talked to him a few times this week. He’s one of our greatest champions and greatest stars ever. He’s been here from the beginning. We definitely miss him.”

Also missed is Britt Baker. Once the cornerstone of AEW’s women’s division, Baker hasn’t wrestled since last September. In March, Baker took part in a panel discussion at SXSW, where she said, “I can’t wait to get back in the ring, have one of these bad boys (microphone) in my hand, and cut some promos. I don’t know. Just stay tuned.”

With the emergence of Toni Storm as a compelling character and with the recent acquisition of Mercedes Moné, a return by the real-life dentist could elevate the women’s field, a fact not lost on Tony Khan.

“For Britt Baker, the sooner she’s back, the better,” said Khan. “She’s a great world champion for us and a great representative for AEW. We’ve missed her. That would be tremendous.”
