The Rock hints at what he handed Cody Rhodes on Raw After WrestleMania

He started calling himself a “Long Gamer” even before he officially returned to start a WrestleMania XL program with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins. He also reminded us towards the end of that program that he’d remain on the board of directors for WWE’s parent company TKO Group beyond his role in this year’s Showcase of the Immortals.

So we knew Dwayne “The RocK” Johnson wasn’t done with WWE post-’Mania. There was already speculation he’d be back in the ring at some point to have the Reigns match that was briefly planned for Philadelphia. Then Rock’s intriguing segment with new Undisputed WWE champion Rhodes on the Raw After WrestleMania set-up another big bout for him.

Which brings us to this afternoon on Instagram, where Johnson’s posted several videos of the ‘Mania program with captions like “But this is only Chapter 1 of Final Boss Cinema. To be continued…”

One is of the Raw-closing beatdown of Cody in the Chicago rain, with an added message for the new champ: “I’m gonna bleed you boy. The hard way. For life.”

And another teases an answer to what made that aforementioned post-WrestleMania exchange so interesting. The Rock put something in Rhodes’ hand that the audience never saw. Here, The Final Boss intimates he was returning something the American Nightmare had previously given him…

And then he went back to posting about Moana 2. But the point is, Rock is almost certainly coming back — and he’s not being shy that one of the reason is to continue his business with Rhodes.

What was this gift that’s changed hands a couple times now, apparently? My only guess is that it’s one of the Rolex watches Cody gave to Seth Rollins and others prior to the main event of Night One of WrestleMania XL. Maybe as a way to say, “Save it for when we settle this one-on-one”?
