Tennessee Titans Controlling Owner Amy Adams-Strunk shocked the football world on Tuesday when she fired Mike Vrabel. She said in her statement that she is looking for someone who can work in collaboration with general manager Ran Carthon so that the franchise can sustain success as the NFL continues to evolve. It is clear that she did not believe that person was Vrabel – who ends his tenure with a 54-45 record. He led the Titans to two playoff wins in six seasons.
AAS and Carthon have taken a beating in the local media for the way they have handled the media since the news of Vrabel’s firing broke. None of that matters to me as long as they hire a good coach to take over. You can hear more of my thoughts on that here.
