Teenager Bai Reaches Women’s Final

on

China’s 19-year-old Bai Yulu reached the final of the World Women’s Championship by coming from 3-1 down to beat 12-time winner Reanne Evans 5-3 in Thailand.

Bai is competing in a WWS event for the first time but has shown her talent with a superb run to the final, as well as making the highest break in the history of the tournament during her opening group match. From 3-1 down against Evans, she took four frames in a row with a top run of 56.

In Saturday’s final she will meet either defending champion Mink Nutcharut or Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjam – watch the conclusion of that match here.

Semi-final defeat means Evans is uncertain of keeping her place on the professional tour next season. She will have to rely on her position in the women’s world rankings at the end of the season, after May’s British Open.
